Job description

Controller - NetSuite Experience Required

Location: Seneca, South Carolina

Reports To: CFO

Employment Type: Full-Time, Onsite

Salary: $125k-$150k


Position Summary

We are partnering with a fast growing manufacturing company seeking an experienced and hands-on Controller to lead the accounting and financial operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in manufacturing accounting, cost accounting, financial reporting, and internal controls, along with advanced experience utilizing NetSuite ERP.

This leadership role is responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting, managing the accounting team, overseeing month-end and year-end close processes, driving process improvements, and providing financial insights that support strategic business decisions.


Key Responsibilities

Financial Management & Reporting

  • Oversee all accounting operations including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, fixed assets, and inventory accounting.
  • Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Ensure timely and accurate month-end and year-end close processes.
  • Develop and maintain internal controls and accounting policies.
  • Monitor cash flow and working capital performance.
  • Support annual budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.


Manufacturing & Cost Accounting

  • Manage standard costing, inventory valuation, variance analysis, and product costing.
  • Analyze manufacturing costs, labor efficiencies, material usage, and overhead allocations.
  • Partner with operations leadership to improve profitability and operational performance.
  • Monitor inventory controls and reconcile inventory transactions.
  • Support physical inventory counts and cycle count programs.


NetSuite ERP Leadership

  • Optimize financial processes and reporting within NetSuite.
  • Develop dashboards, KPIs, and management reports.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to improve ERP workflows and system efficiencies.
  • Support future system enhancements, integrations, and reporting initiatives.


Compliance & Audit

  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable financial regulations.
  • Coordinate external audits, tax filings, and year-end reporting requirements.
  • Maintain documentation and controls to support audit readiness.
  • Assist with banking relationships, lender reporting, and covenant compliance.


Leadership

  • Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Provide financial guidance to executive leadership and department managers.


Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 7+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience.
  • 3+ years in a Controller, Assistant Controller, or Senior Accounting leadership role.
  • Manufacturing industry experience required.
  • Strong experience with cost accounting and inventory management.
  • Hands-on experience with NetSuite ERP.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
