Senior, Business Solutions Consultant - Finance

Description

The Senior, Business Solution Consultant partners with finance leaders, functional managers, and senior executives to define, design, and implement finance-driven solutions within a manufacturing environment. This role has a strong focus on financial processes, controlling, cost accounting, and financial reporting, while ensuring tight integration with production, supply chain, and logistics operations.

The consultant acts as a trusted advisor during Abas implementations, translating complex manufacturing finance requirements into efficient, standardized solutions. This includes leading finance related sub-projects, guiding customers through process transformation, and ensuring best-practice financial governance in manufacturing organizations.

Responsibilities
  • Finance & Controlling Subject Matter Expert for manufacturing environments, including:
    • Financial Accounting, Controlling, Cost Accounting
    • Product costing, work-in-progress (WIP), variance analysis
    • Post-calculation, inventory valuation, and manufacturing cost rollups
    • Integration of Finance with Production, Supply Chain, and Logistics
  • Analyze and consult on end-to-end financial processes with customers, focusing on manufacturing-specific finance requirements
  • Advise finance leadership and functional stakeholders throughout the change process, ensuring financial transparency, compliance, and control
  • Identify, promote, and apply manufacturing finance best practices within Abas
  • Design integrated financial and controlling processes aligned as closely as possible to Abas standard functionality; define functional enhancements where required
  • Prepare customers for go-live from a finance and controlling perspective and support financial activities during go-live and stabilization
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional project team members and report progress, risks, and outcomes to the Project Manager
  • Support pre-sales activities including processing tenders, estimating scope, and preparing implementation proposals with a strong finance focus
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, IT, Operations Management, or Engineering, or equivalent professional experience
  • Minimum 3 years as a Business Solution Consultant or 5+ years as an ERP user, with strong hands-on finance or controlling experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Proven expertise in manufacturing finance concepts, including costing methods, inventory valuation, and financial integration with production processes
  • Solid understanding of manufacturing models such as Make-to-Order, Make-to-Stock, and Engineer-to-Order
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate finance requirements into ERP system designs
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage finance executives and operational stakeholders alike
  • High customer orientation with a structured, solution-driven consulting approach
  • Willingness to travel up to 40%
