Job DetailsJob Location: Aiken, SC 29801Position Type: Full TimeBrown Federal Services is actively hiring a Principal Project Controls Specialist to support operations at the Savannah River Site. This is a high-impact role focused on cost, schedule, and financial performance across complex DOE projects.

What You’ll Do
  • Lead development and management of project controls systems including cost, schedule, and financial tracking
  • Build and maintain cost & schedule baselines, WBS structures, and spend plans
  • Perform variance analysis and communicate drivers and corrective actions to leadership
  • Support project reviews, cost meetings, and schedule updates
  • Develop and implement change management processes for construction and engineering scope
  • Conduct financial analysis including forecasting, scenario analysis, and performance tracking
  • Maintain and analyze costing structures within PeopleSoft and financial systems
  • Prepare monthly financial reports, forecasts, and spend plans
  • Identify cost and productivity issues and implement control improvements
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to project controls personnel
  • Support system enhancements and integration of project control tools and applications
  • Perform field walkdowns and support construction maintenance schedules and cost tracking
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
  • OR equivalent experience (Associate’s + 11 years or HS diploma + 15 years)
  • Strong experience in project controls (cost & schedule) at a tactical level
  • Advanced proficiency in:
    • Cost management systems
    • Scheduling tools
    • Financial/estimating systems
  • Experience with variance analysis, forecasting, and reporting
  • Strong understanding of project lifecycle and construction operations
  • Knowledge of CAS/FAR principles
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with PeopleSoft, OAS, and COBRA
  • Prior experience at Savannah River Site (SRNS)
  • Active or recent DOE L or Q Clearance
