Job description

Broadridge is growing! We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Financial Accountant to join our dynamic team in the Newark, NJ area. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills, demonstrate a high degree of initiative, and have a solid background in accounting and finance. This position plays a crucial role in maintaining our financial health and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
This is a hybrid role where you will work 1-2 days per week in the Newark office, and remotely the rest of the week.
Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for one or several legal entities/projects, being the main point of contact, with minimal input and oversight from finance managers
  • Responsible for preparing complex general ledger transactions and reviewing and approving general ledger transactions for certain legal entities
  • Responsible for reviewing balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring the accuracy of the general ledger and trial balance, making sure that they are completed as per the deadlines, following the Broadridge policy, and taking ownership of the accuracy and completeness of the balance sheet
  • Reviews the P&L monthly to work alongside Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) to provide commentary on any Actual to Forecast variances, taking ownership of the accuracy and completeness of the P&L
  • Oversee the accounting process ensuring accuracy and compliance with US GAAP
  • Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close process, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with US GAAP or relevant accounting standards
  • Support internal and external audit processes, ensuring timely and accurate documentation and responses
  • Support indirect tax compliance; prepare and review indirect tax reconciliation and indirect tax returns
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Treasury, Tax, FP&A, AP, and Billing, to support efficient processes and alignment on financial objectives
  • Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and standards, staying current with changes in regulations and legislation
  • Act as a mentor and provide guidance to junior accounting staff, promoting a culture of continuous learning and development within the team
  • Assist in improving systems, procedures, and reporting, making sure that Fusion is used at its full capability, and being able to assess the impact of any future implementation
  • Coordinates accounting projects and initiatives with different individuals from the accounting and finance group or with different offices

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • 2-5 years of experience in accounting or finance, with a strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting
  • CPA preferred, or willingness to obtain
  • Proven experience in a similar role within the financial services or technology industry is a plus
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with accounting software (e.g., Oracle), familiar with Power BI
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and ability to interpret complex financial data
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with colleagues and stakeholders at all levels
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to adapt to changes quickly and handle multiple responsibilities with meticulous attention to detail

Compensation Range: The salary range for this position is $90,000 - $105,000 USD annual base. Broadridge considers various factors when evaluating a candidate's final salary including, but not limited to, relevant experience, skills, location and education. Bonus eligible.
