Job description

The Job Providing secure, stable, and scalable enterprise solutions for the nation's largest county and its network. The Innovation and Technology Department (ITD) is recruiting for a Senior Enterprise Application Administrator to support the County's Enterprise Applications Team. This position serves as a senior technical resource responsible for the administration, maintenance, and Tier-3 support of enterprise applications utilized across County departments.

The incumbent will support a diverse portfolio of on-premises and Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) platforms, including web services, IT service management systems, content management systems, secure file transfer services, monitoring tools, scheduling systems, SSL certificate infrastructure, and emerging AI-based enterprise platforms. This position provides technical support, leads complex troubleshooting efforts, participates in enterprise projects, and provides guidance to junior staff and County departments. Duties may include, but are not limited to: Design, administer, configure, and maintain enterprise applications in both on-premises and SaaS environments.

Provide Tier 3 support by diagnosing and resolving complex system and application issues impacting County services. Provide root cause analysis. Manage enterprise platforms such as Microsoft IIS, ServiceNow, FileNet (content management), FTP/SFTP services, monitoring systems, task schedulers, SSL certificates, mainframe-integrated applications, and AI-based tools (e.g., ChatGPT Enterprise)

Perform application lifecycle activities, including installation, configuration, patching, upgrades, and decommissioning. Design and support enterprise web hosting environments, including IIS configuration, application security, and performance tuning. Administer SSL/TLS certificates, including issuance, renewal, deployment, and troubleshooting.

Support enterprise file transfer systems ensuring secure and reliable data exchange. Support enterprise system monitoring (Broadcom Unified Infrastructure Management). Lead or participate in enterprise projects such as system implementations, migrations, and upgrades.

Collaborate with cross-functional IT teams including network, security, database, and development teams. Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior staff. Develop and maintain technical documentation, procedures, and knowledge base articles.

Evaluate vendor solutions and provide technical recommendations. Ensure systems comply with County, State, and Federal security and audit requirements. Support automation efforts using scripting and scheduling tools.

Minimum Requirements EXPERIENCE: Three (3) years of full-time equivalent experience within the last five (5) years performing systems administration supporting complex applications and infrastructure.

Experience must include responsibility in at least two (2) of the following areas: Administration of enterprise application platforms (e.g., IIS, ServiceNow, FileNet, UIM, FTP, SSL or similar) Administration of Operating Systems - Windows Server, Red Hat Linux, IBM z/OS Web/application hosting and support High availability, disaster recovery, or business continuity Integration of on-premises and SaaS systems Secure communications (e.g., SSL certificates, authentication systems) Monitoring and performance tuning of enterprise systems -AND- EDUCATION: Thirty (30) semester (45 quarter) units of completed college coursework from and accredited** college/university in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business/Public Administration, or a closely related field. Substitution: One (1) additional year of qualifying experience may substitute for the required education. **Qualifying degrees and coursework must be conferred by institutions accredited by an accrediting body recognized by the U.S

Department of Education. Degrees earned outside the United States must be accompanied by an evaluation from a recognized credential evaluation service verifying U.S. equivalency

Desired Qualifications The ideal candidate will possess: Experience supporting enterprise SaaS platforms Strong experience with Microsoft IIS and web-based applications Knowledge of enterprise content management systems Experience managing SSL certificates and PKI concepts Familiarity with AI enterprise platforms (e.g., ChatGPT Enterprise) Experience with enterprise monitoring tools Proficiency in PowerShell or other scripting languages Experience in hybrid environments (on-premises and cloud/SaaS) Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills Experience working in a public sector or government organization.
