Job description

The Senior UXO Supervisor directs the efforts of multiple UXO teams and supervises all unexploded ordnance (UXO) related operations. The Senior UXO Supervisor must be able to perform the responsibilities of UXO Sweep Personnel and UXO Technicians I, II and III.

Expected Outcomes

  • Plan, coordinate, and supervise all explosives operations
  • Supervise multiple UXO teams.
  • Assist in development of munitions response plans and reports.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • High School diploma plus 10 years significant experience in all aspects of munitions response actions or range clearance activities, as appropriate for the contracted operation. Also requires 5 years experience in supervisory position.
  • Graduate of formal UXO training course of instruction, or Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) assistant courses required. Or graduate of a military EOD school of the United States, Canada, Great Britain, Germany or Australia.
  • Deductive Reasoning - The ability to apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense.
  • Identifying Objects, Actions, and Events - Identifying information by categorizing, estimating, recognizing differences or similarities, and detecting changes in circumstances or events.
  • Active Listening - Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, and asking questions as appropriate.
  • Organizing, Planning, and Prioritizing Work - Developing specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize, and accomplish work.
  • Communicating with Supervisors, Peers, or Subordinates - Providing information to supervisors, co-workers, and subordinates by telephone, in written form, e-mail, or in person.
  • Critical Thinking - Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
  • Complex Problem Solving - Identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
