We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Environmental Project Scientist / Planner with a strong technical background to join our growing team in Fairfax; VA. Candidates must have excellent technical writing and verbal communication skills and have the ability to be highly responsive to clients. Candidates shall also have experience with client growth and staff development. Responsibilities: Responsibilities will include leading field work, data collection, preparation of Phase I & II Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs), assisting with NEPA documentation preparation, coordinating with regulatory agencies and clients, mentoring and training junior staff, and any other services as required by specific projects. Periodic travel (including overnight) will be required to conduct field work and/or attend project meetings, as needed. Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree in Planning, Environmental Management, Environmental Science, Biology, Geology, or a related field. 16+ years of experience, desired in environmental compliance discipline, will consider less years’ experience for significant relevant experience Willingness to conduct field work requiring periodic overnight travel Ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines under limited supervision Experience coordinating with federal and state resource agencies Experience conducting Phase I and Phase II ESAs in accordance ASTM Standards Excellent technical writing and verbal communication skills Positive attitude and ability to work independently or as part of a team Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) Willingness to continue to learn and grow technically and professionally within the company Willingness to mentor and train junior staff Ability to interpret and stay abreast of environmental regulations GIS experience Benefits: WRA recognizes that employees play an important role in its success.
