Buyer/Planner

Hybrid Role in Cary, NC

Description:

We are seeking a Buyer Planner to assist the Supply Chain team within the Finance organization. The Supply Chain team strategically sources quality materials and services at the lowest total cost while enabling effective and efficient purchasing solutions and enhancing supplier partnerships. Day to day you will strategically source quality materials and services at lowest total cost. As a Buyer Planner you will partner cross-functionally develop forecast and execution plans to secure authorization of inventory liability.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Manage the business unit inventory, including evaluation, approval of return from projects, inventory transactional alignment, execution, reconciliation and inventory projections and tracking.

• Manage the implications and outlook associated with new product introduction and product life cycle strategy for product obsolescence.

• Provide ongoing metrics and reporting related to goals set for forecast accuracy, forecast timeliness, forecast authorization, and forecast-related inventory exposure.

• Establish a “spares” strategy for new suppliers and subsequent negotiations and existing suppliers and inventories.

• Integrate full life cycle management techniques assuming a 10+ year environment of materials planning and management.

• Work with suppliers, colleagues, business partners, and field teams to facilitate forecasting and ordering process. Resolve discrepancies related to products ordered versus forecasted.

• Work closely with the strategic sourcing team to understand contracts with suppliers related to materials and services. Drive demand of materials and services to preferred suppliers.

• Evaluate and submit analyses on monthly, quarterly and annual excess and obsolete materials to business units and accounting.

• Assist with development of streamlined processes for forecast-to-order cycle and have good controls in place for the process.

Skills:

  1. 5+ years of material demand planning experience (managing inventory lifecycles, forecasting accuracy, and excess/obsolete material analysis)
  2. Oracle or other ERP system required
  3. Previous customer service experience
  4. Cross-functional Collaboration (This role touches suppliers, field teams, business partners, strategic sourcing, and accounting)
  5. Supply Chain and Lifecycle Strategy (The 10-plus year lifecycle management requirement and the new product introduction/obsolescence work signal they need someone who thinks long-term, not just transactionally)

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Cary, NC.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $32.42 - $32.42/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
