Reports To: Principal Engineer
Status: Regular, Full-Time, Non-Exempt
Location: Vista, CA - Hybrid
POSITION SUMMARY
The Senior Engineering Consultant manages FIT Solutions clients' organizations' computer systems, including software, hardware, and networks. The Senior Engineering Consultant is responsible for designing, installing, and supporting the entire system. Senior Engineers will contribute to the efficiency of services by supporting the completion of tickets.

PRIMARY OBJECTIVES
  • Streamline clients through consultation and strategic technology planning to maintain client profitability.
  • Expand existing relationships through initiative-taking engineer consulting and problem-solving to generate new revenue and grow the business.
  • Deliver Best in Class customer service to uphold raving fan culture.
  • Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve complex technical problems both onsite and remote.

SECONDARY OBJECTIVES
  • Provide technology consultation, leadership, and guidance to clients in multiple industries.
  • Develop technology roadmap based on business goals.
  • Manage, review, and oversee IT initiatives and special projects.
  • Manage and review ongoing client IT initiatives.
  • Design and prepare quotes for technology solutions, adhering to the client's budget.
  • Install, configure, and maintain network elements, computer systems and other related equipment.
  • Document daily work through ConnectWise ticketing system.
  • Participate in the on-call rotation with team.
  • Provide desk engineering services.
  • Perform sales engineering by designing solutions and technology business plans for clients.
  • Perform vCIO tasks for assigned clients.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION/TECHNICAL SKILLS
Qualifications Include, but are not limited to:
  • Experience supporting and administering virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V, Citrix, or similar platforms).
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server environments, including Windows Server 2016, 2019, and 2022.
  • Experience with cloud infrastructure and services, including Microsoft Azure and/or Amazon Web Services (AWS).
  • Strong understanding of Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and identity management.
  • Experience providing desktop, endpoint, and end-user technical support in a business environment.
  • Proficiency supporting Windows desktop operating systems, including Windows 10 and Windows 11.
  • Experience using Professional Services Automation (PSA) and/or Remote Monitoring and Management (RMM) platforms.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft 365 administration is preferred.
  • Familiarity with networking fundamentals, cybersecurity best practices, backup and disaster recovery solutions, and endpoint security tools.
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field preferred; equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
  • Relevant industry certifications are preferred, including but not limited to:
    • Microsoft Certified (Azure Administrator, Azure Fundamentals, or equivalent)
    • CompTIA A+, Network+, and/or Security+
    • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
    • VMware Certified Professional (VCP)
    • Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) or other Microsoft role-based certifications
