Job description

Position Overview:

We are seeking a skilled Controls Engineer with a strong background inconveyor systemsandindustrial automation programming and design. This role focuses on designing, programming, and commissioning control systems for conveyor-based material handling solutions. The ideal candidate will have experience with PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, and industrial networking, and will play a key role in supporting new installations, upgrades, and troubleshooting efforts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Program and debug Allen Bradley PLCs (Studio 5000, RSLogix), HMIs, and communication devices.

  • Design and develop electrical control systems in compliance with engineering standards, codes, and customer specifications.

  • Design and implement AC/DC motor control systems and frequency drives.

  • Integrate conveyor systems with SCADA, MES, and other plant-wide automation platforms.

  • Collaborate with customers, vendors, and internal teams to ensure successful project execution.

  • Evaluate and select electrical components and ensure manufacturability and quality.

  • Provide technical support to sales, applications, and field service teams.

  • Stay current with industry trends, technologies, and best practices.

  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, quality standards, and housekeeping procedures.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent related experience.

  • Proven expertise in Allen Bradley PLC programming and AC/DC motor control.

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical and control system design.

  • Strong troubleshooting skills and hands-on experience with machinery and mechanisms.

  • Excellent communication and team collaboration skills.

  • Willingness to travel up to 20% (domestic and limited international travel).

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

  • Experience with Allen Bradley Studio 5000, Factory Talk Studio, Siemens PLCs, CAN/Ethernet/Profinet/ASI networks.

  • Certifications in Qualified Electrical Worker, UL MTR.

  • Familiarity with CODESYS, Ladder Logic, and TIA Portal.

  • Project management experience and mentoring junior engineers.

  • 5+ years of experience in controls engineering with a focus on conveyor and automation systems.
