Job description

Position Summary:
The Senior eCommerce Merchandiser is responsible for executing and optimizing our merchandising strategy across our full product assortment for all Show micro-sites. This role is responsible for driving revenue growth, enhancing the digital customer experience, and maximizing conversion through effective product presentation, promotions, and on-site merchandising tactics. Being data-driven and customer focused, including both Show Organizers and Exhibitors, will be key for success in this role.
  • Execute eCommerce merchandising strategies to drive sales, conversion, and increase average order value
  • Manage product categorization across the site
  • Optimize site navigation, search, and product discovery to improve user experience
  • Analyze performance metrics (e.g., conversion rate, bounce rate, AOV) and translate insights into actionable improvements
  • Plan and execute promotional campaigns for select Shows
  • Collaborate with Marketing, Product and CSM teams to align messaging and visual merchandising
  • Execute product placement, cross-selling, upselling, and personalization strategies
  • Partner with the Web Content Supervisor to ensure accuracy and consistency of product data, pricing, and visibility
  • Conduct A/B testing to optimize layouts, product pages, and merchandising tactics
  • Partner with internal departments including Web Content, Client Services, IT, Marketing, and Operations to improve communication, address operational challenges, and enhance service efficiency
  • Develop and execute strategies to manage complex exhibitor concerns and ensure client satisfaction
  • Enforce adherence to brand and legal guidelines to maintain consistency and uphold GES' visual identity across all digital outputs
  • Stay current on eCommerce trends, tools, and best practices
  • This role doesn't currently include direct reports but may expand to include oversight and mentorship of a future eCommerce Coordinator. Key responsibilities include: managing daily tasks and performance, conduct regular 1:1 meetings

Qualifications:
  • 3-5 years of experience in eCommerce merchandising or digital retail
  • Strong analytical skills with experience using tools like Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics, or similar
  • Experience with eCommerce platforms (e.g., Big Commerce, Shopify, Salesforce Commerce Cloud, or Magento; Big Commerce preferred)
  • Proven ability to drive revenue growth through merchandising strategies
  • Strong understanding of UX/UI principles and customer journey optimization
  • Excellent cross-functional collaboration and communication skills
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and project management abilities
  • Required to be at computer to do work which includes long periods of sitting

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Merchandising, Business or related field
  • Experience with personalization tools and merchandising automation platforms
  • Familiarity with SEO and on-site search optimization
