Senior Paralegal Employment Type: Full Time, Mid-Level Department: Legal CGS is seeking a Senior Paralegal to join our team supporting the legal mission of a large federal agency in Jackson, MS. This position will allow candidates to demonstrate expertise in providing litigation support tasks like legal research, legal drafting, and administrative support to multiple attorneys.  CGS brings motivated, highly skilled, and creative people together to solve the government’s most dynamic problems with cutting-edge technology. Job Duties:     * Preparing substantive legal documents such as motions, writs of execution, garnishments, and other legal filings necessary to carry out post-judgment debt collection actions for debts owed to the United States Government. * Conducting interviews with debtors, employers, and agency officials to determine the effectiveness of legal actions against debtors in default. * Monitor and analyze credit information and public records related to debtor assets and liabilities, review and summarize debtor financial information, and recommend appropriate legal actions to Assistant U.S. Attorneys. * Researching, analyzing, and summarizing legal precedents, preparing legal digests, processing debt collection claims referred by client agencies, and making decisions regarding debt compromise, write-offs, and referrals back to originating agencies. * Tracking case progress, ensuring legal pleadings, reports, correspondence, and other documentation are completed and submitted within established deadlines. Job Requirements:  * Two-year paralegal degree or a four-year degree with an additional paralegal certificate. * Valid United States driver’s license and reliable transportation as well as being able to pass a security clearance background check.  * Experience with tracing assets, seizing assets, enforcing judgment liens, and proficiency in word processing applications. * Accounting background and experience using online legal research tools such as Westlaw or LexisNexis (preferred).  Our commitment: Contact Government Services (CGS) strives to simplify and enhance government bureaucracy through the optimization of human, technical, and financial resources.
