Job Description
AECOM is seeking a Sr Civil Engineer to join our team in Honolulu. The Sr Civil Engineer will lead the team providing oversight and management of various project tasks, the development of technical concepts and designs, and the preparation of documents including reports, studies, plans, specifications, and estimates.
The Sr Civil Engineer will have the opportunity to work on a wide variety of projects - both domestic and international. Projects may include Healthcare facilities, Federal, Science + Tech, High Education, Sports + Rec, Transportation or Infrastructure projects for a range of prospective clients, including state, Federal, and local agencies as well as private entities.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
  • Senior technical resource may serve as technical lead for team.
  • Provides specialized technical input to studies and design for staff's specific area of expertise.
  • Develops study and design procedures to facilitate high quality cost effective work by others.
  • Participates in interdisciplinary review of project deliverables.
  • Develops construction cost estimates and estimates of technical efforts for projects.
  • Uses expertise in all steps of completing discipline component of PS&E package.
  • Performs quality control review of design calculations or drawings.
  • Prepares technical specification sections.
  • Provides input to the development of engineering budget and schedule to meet requirements.
  • Work under the supervision of a project manager or senior-level team member.
  • Present design solutions to AECOM project teams.
  • Collaborate with other team members.
  • Mentor, train, and supervise junior team members.

Qualifications
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field and 8 years of experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
  • Valid U.S. Driver's License is required to visit project sites, clients, and other AECOM offices when public transportation is not available. Selected candidate will undergo a Motor Vehicle Records review.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Demonstrated experience working on site/civil design projects.
  • Experience preparing calculations and design documents (reports, plans, specifications)
  • Specific experience in civil engineering and building development projects covering all aspects of building design - survey, design development, construction documents, construction administration.
  • PE license in Civil Engineering
  • Proficient with AutoCAD Civil 3D, Microstation, Arc GIS, Hydrologic/Hydraulic models
  • Demonstrated experience in planning and organizing tasks and teams in a deadline intensive environment
  • Experience working in large and complex projects/programs.
  • Experience with Federal projects is a plus.
