Job Responsibilities:

We are seeking a Senior Cloud DevOps Engineer to design, implement, and support scalable, secure, and resilient cloud infrastructure. This role will drive our infrastructure automation, cloud services, and CI/CD practices across environments, with a strong emphasis on AWS, Kubernetes, and infrastructure-as-code tooling.

You'll be part of a high-performing team focused on rapid delivery, system reliability, and continuous improvement. Working at Magna means collaborating with engineers and designers who bring decades of experience across multiple disciplines and are passionate about building high-impact systems.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Design and manage infrastructure using AWS, Kubernetes, and Terraform.
  • Build and support CI/CD pipelines to enable efficient and reliable deployments.
  • Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration using tools like Ansible, Puppet, or Chef.
  • Write and maintain infrastructure-as-code and configuration-as-code for all environments.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize infrastructure performance, availability, and cost.
  • Integrate and manage third-party tools, plug-ins, and internal scripts as needed.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, including runbooks and architecture diagrams.
  • Participate in on-call rotations and contribute to improving incident response processes.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure infrastructure meets application and business needs.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in computer engineering / Software Engineering / Electrical Engineering / Computer Science or equivalent

Experience

  • 7+ years of experience working as Devops engineer.
  • 7+ years of DevOps, SRE, or infrastructure engineering experience.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with cloud platforms, especially AWS (GCP or Azure a plus).
  • Strong Linux administration skills in production environments.
  • Experience managing Kubernetes clusters and containerized workloads (Docker).
  • Expertise in Terraform and infrastructure automation practices.
  • Proficiency in scripting with Python and Bash.
  • Experience with tools like Git, Jenkins, and artifact repositories.
  • Familiarity with networking fundamentals such as DNS, DHCP, VPN, and LDAP.
  • Experience with monitoring and logging systems such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, or equivalent.
  • Strong understanding of cloud networking, VPCs, security groups, and IAM policies.
  • Comfortable working with Agile teams and tools like JIRA and Confluence
  • On-call rotation required

Nice To Have

  • Experience with Helm and managing Kubernetes via Helm charts.
  • Exposure to hybrid environments (cloud + on-prem).
  • Familiarity with secrets management tools (e.g., HashiCorp Vault, AWS Secrets Manager).
  • Experience mentoring engineers or leading DevOps initiatives.

Hiring Base Salary Range: $85,670 - $159,110 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data). In addition to base salary, some positions are eligible for an annual performance based bonus.
