Working across editorial, sales, marketing, operations, and executive leadership, the Senior Director will create industry-defining events that convene the world's most influential owners, commissioners, investors, athletes, executives, policymakers, and innovators.
The successful candidate understands that exceptional events are both world-class editorial experiences and scalable businesses. • Lead Sportico's overall live events strategy, business development, and long-term growth.
  • Oversee planning and execution of a portfolio of Sportico's flagship events, including invite-only bespoke gatherings.
  • Partner closely with the sales to create and sell high-value sponsorship opportunities and with Sportico's newsroom to ensure programming reflects the publication's editorial excellence.
  • Develop innovative strategies to boost ticket sales and attendee engagement.
  • Work with marketing to maximize audience growth, event visibility, and post-event engagement.

  • Sports investing
  • Women's sports business
  • Executive leadership summits
  • Emerging sectors shaping the future of sports business

Qualifications
  • Minimum 8+ years of experience leading conferences, live events, sponsorship sales, business development, executive programming, or media events.

  • Proven ability to build and monetize premium B2B conferences and executive experiences.
  • Experience recruiting high-profile speakers, moderators, and industry leaders.
  • Strong understanding of the global sports industry and its executive ecosystem.

What We're Looking For
The ideal candidate is a builder. They recognize opportunities before competitors do and understand how to transform emerging trends into must-attend industry events. They know how to create experiences that executives prioritize because of the quality of the conversations, the caliber of the attendees, and the business opportunities those events create. They combine strategic vision with operational excellence, understand the economics of premium live media businesses, and have the creativity to imagine what Sportico's next signature event should be.
