Senior Director, Project Procurement

Summary
The Senior Director, Project Procurement will lead the organization dedicate to procurement activities for the various Venture Global construction projects. In this role, the Senior Director, Project Procurement will partner with the internal Projects, Engineering, and Construction teams along with third-party contractors to ensure project equipment, materials, and consumables orders are executed as needed to support the Project schedule and budget.
General Description Duties & Responsibilities
  • Ensure compliance with applicable procurement procedures and methods for construction procurement and contracting
  • Ensure purchases and contracts are aligned to the Project delivery schedules, quality requirements and budgets
  • Lead a team of Project Procurement professionals to organize and execute project procurement activities for various major construction and capital projects including:
    • Developing Request for quotations (RFQ), issuing invitations for bids, organizing Commercial Bid Evaluations (CBE) and other contract and procurement documentation
    • Conducting pre-bid conferences, receiving and analyzing vendor responses, tabulating offers, and recommending awards
    • Providing vendors and contractors with information to assemble bids (including technical specifications as needed)
    • Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating purchase agreements, contracts and change orders with the support of Contract Administration and Legal
  • Serve as the senior/executive liaison between the Project Management and Purchasing functions
  • Identify and execute sourcing strategies by connecting procurement needs across various Projects, consolidating volumes and leveraging this purchasing power with key suppliers
  • Collaborate with the Project Management team to interpret schedules and synchronize purchasing of materials, equipment and supplies to support scheduled work
  • Use knowledge of sources and suppliers across the industry to meet complex requirements, increase competition and grow supply chain capacity
  • Perform other duties assigned

Qualifications
Required experience
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, supply chain, business or related field
  • At least 10 years in a similar Procurement, Sourcing or Supply Chain role involving construction projects with civil, structural and mechanical scopes
  • Experience leading a team of procurement professionals and/or buyers
  • Excellent knowledge of sourcing, procurement and delivery processes
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to simplify complex concepts and present key details and conclusions
  • Proficient with MS OfficeSuite, SAP and Coupa procurement systems is preferred
  • Interest in and comfort with being a part of a team environment with rapidly changing assignments and priorities
  • Demonstrated initiative and ownership of work with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to accurately prepare daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual procurement reports
  • Willing to report in office daily, with occasional nights and weekend work required
  • Periodic travel to sites in Louisiana and/or suppliers in various domestic and international locations will be required

Work Hours: 8AM - 5PM, Mon - Friday (some overtime may be required)
