Job Title: Senior AccountantLocation: Milwaukee, WIJob DescriptionThe Senior Accountant is responsible for managing the day-to-day accounting and financial reporting for assigned parking locations. This role ensures financial information is accurate, timely, and compliant with company procedures, client agreements, leases, and generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).The Senior Accountant manages key accounting activities including month-end close, journal entries, account reconciliations, financial statements, client reporting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and sales and use tax reporting. This position also works closely with Operations and regional General Managers to understand financial performance, analyze variances, prepare annual budgets, and address financial issues.This role is an important partner to both Accounting and Operations and is expected to identify opportunities to improve processes, strengthen controls, and create greater efficiency and consistency as the company continues to grow.Interstate Parking is a rapidly growing managed parking solutions company headquartered in Milwaukee, Wisconsin with 500+ team members operating over 400 locations with more than 85,000 parking spaces in geographic markets from California to Vermont. We’re extremely proud of this recognition because it’s based entirely on feedback from our team members!Learn more: https://topworkplaces.com/company/interstate-parking/Our rapid growth means we’re always seeking to add highly talented and creative people to the Interstate team.What You’ll DoManage accounting activities for assigned parking locations.Complete month-end close, journal entries, and account reconciliations.Prepare and review financial statements and client reporting.Partner with Operations on budgets, financial performance, and variance analysis.Ensure compliance with contracts, leases, GAAP, and company procedures.Support accounts payable, accounts receivable, and client distributions.Prepare sales and use tax reporting and support audits.Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and efficiencies.What We’re Looking ForBachelor’s degree in Accounting required; CPA preferred.3–5 years of progressive accounting experience.
