Key Responsibilities:

· Main responsibility is to administer Desktops, Notebooks, and Mobile Data Terminals (and accompanying equipment).

· Hardware and software support, including specialized law enforcement software and devices.

· Assist with IT equipment in vehicles.

· Work with vendors for support on workstation issues.

· Coordinate with Tier 1 and 3 personnel on support issues

· Work with the IT Ticket System

· Performs other tasks and duties as assigned or needed by the agency.

Preferred Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

· Windows desktop operating systems support client hardware and software, including Office 365 applications

· Troubleshooting skills

· Ability to work in a team atmosphere

· Ability to create technical documentation

· Provide Tier 2 support to other personnel in the IT Branch

· Ability to receive training and retain new knowledge

· Ability to be professional and courteous

The main role of this position is to cover the Frankfort area, although there may be situations where the employee would need to go to another KSP location outside of Frankfort. Overnight trips would be few and far between but could happen. If a over night trip to a location was to happen it would be a scheduled one and the employee would have time to prepare. We have vehicles available to use to travel around town and outside of town locations.

Hours:

8 am - 5 pm The position requires physical work on equipment in the central IT location and remote locations around the Commonwealth. Travel away from Frankfort will be necessary from time to time (infrequent), and a IT Pool vehicle will be provided.

The Tech will be reimbursed. A vehicle is provided and if a state park is not utilized, a hotel expense and meals (state meal rate) is reimbursed.

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $28.00/hr.
