Job Title: Sr Specialist, Mechanical Design Engineer

Job Schedule: 9/80 Employees work 9 out of every 14 days- totaling 80 hours working- and have every other Friday off 

Job Description:

Currently seeing a qualified mechanical designer. Successful candidates will be members of a highly motivated, multi-disciplined, cross-functional design engineering team. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:


Essential Functions:

  • Electro-mechanical packaging and design
  • Modification of existing and/or creation of new designs including electro-mechanical racks, shelters, enclosures, ground & airborne chassis' and circuit card assemblies (CCA's) and 3U/6U modules
  • Ensure new designs progress while meeting technical requirements and EVMS schedules and budgets
  • Ability to travel 5% of standard work week
  • Must be able to obtain a US security clearance as a job requirement
  • Create 3D models and 2D drawings of electro-mechanical designs


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of 6 years of prior related experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience. 


Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Basic knowledge of CAD -- Siemens NX (Designcenter) experience preferred
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Familiar with the following open standards: VITA, VME, PMC, ASME Y14.5-2018
  • Must be able to work overtime and weekends when required
  • Strong work ethic; maintain a sense of urgency to ensure commitments to both schedule and budgets are met
