Job description

At Apple, data helps turn curiosity into breakthrough product experiences. Within iCloud, data plays a critical role in shaping how cloud services evolve, scale, and deliver world-class experiences.
We are seeking a Sr. Data Science Leader to define and scale the data science vision across iCloud and Enterprise domains. This leader will build and guide a high-impact organization that shapes product strategy, drives business outcomes, and elevates decision-making through rigorous, data-informed insights.
This role calls for a strategic leader who pairs deep technical expertise with strong people leadership, and who can translate complex data into clear, measurable product and business impact while driving alignment across senior stakeholders.
Description
The Sr. Data Science Leader will oversee and grow a team of senior data scientists and managers responsible for analytics, experimentation, modeling, and data-driven insights that directly influence iCloud product experiences and business strategy.
You will partner closely with Product, Engineering, Design, and Business leaders to define success metrics, guide long-term roadmaps, and embed data science deeply into product development. As a trusted advisor to senior leadership, you will bring clarity to complex problems, drive prioritization across competing initiatives, and influence executive decisions with well-structured, evidence-based recommendations.
This role operates at both strategic and execution levels. You must be comfortable navigating ambiguity, setting direction in complex problem spaces, and balancing immediate product impact with long-term capability building.
Minimum Qualifications
10+ years of experience in data science, analytics, or applied machine learning.
5+ years of experience leading and scaling data science teams, including managing managers.
Proven track record supporting product development in large-scale consumer or enterprise environments.
Strong foundation in statistics, experimentation design, causal inference, and machine learning methodologies.
Experience working with large, complex datasets and modern data ecosystems.
Experience with large-scale experimentation, recommendation systems, personalization, growth analytics, or optimization at scale.
Experience overseeing large-scale data science initiatives and cross-functional data infrastructure initiatives.
Advanced degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, or a related quantitative field.
Exceptional communication skills with the ability to influence both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Demonstrated ability to operate effectively in ambiguous, complex environments and set clear direction.
Preferred Qualifications
Maintain deep awareness of the rapidly evolving AI ecosystem and apply those insights to guide team and organizational strategy.
