Summary
Reporting directly to the leadership, the Senior Data Analyst ( Data Analytics) specializes in harnessing
analytics solutions to empower informed decision-making across the organization. Key responsibilities
include spearheading the delivery of impactful business intelligence solutions to end users. This role
involves leveraging advanced development tools to craft dynamic reports, insightful dashboards, and robust
analytical solutions tailored to business specifications.
This position serves as the primary support liaison for the team, offering expertise in complex assignments
while championing both independent and collaborative work approaches. A core focus involves conducting
comprehensive analyses of workflows, data collection processes, and software performance, ensuring
alignment with MyMichigan Health's operational guidelines. Additionally, the Senior Data Analyst serves as
a subject matter authority for three or more application data models, fostering a deep understanding of
critical data domains.
Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
(45%)*Data Analysis and Reporting:
• Lead and execute complex data analysis projects across various clinical and administrative domains
within the healthcare system.
• Design and develop data queries and reports using EPIC, Tableau, and other reporting and statistical
software to extract actionable insights from healthcare data.
• Analyze trends, identify patterns, and develop data-driven recommendations to improve clinical outcomes,
operational efficiency, and patient satisfaction.
• Create and maintain data dashboards and visualizations to effectively communicate data insights to
stakeholders at all levels.
• Develop and implement data quality initiatives to ensure accuracy and consistency of healthcare data.
(25%)*Data Management and Integration:
• Collaborate with IT and other departments to ensure seamless integration of data from various sources,
including EPIC, administrative systems, and external data sources.
• Develop and maintain data models and schemas to facilitate efficient data analysis and reporting.
• Implement and manage data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes to ensure timely and accurate data availability.
• Monitor data quality and integrity and identify and resolve data discrepancies.
• Participate in testing reports and extracts during system or business changes, participates in product
upgrades and implementations.

• Present data insights and recommendations to leadership, clinical teams, and other stakeholders in a

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND SKILLS:
Five or more years of experience in data analysis roles preferably within a healthcare setting.
Two or more years of experience in a data analyst position or leading complex data analysis projects.
Relevant professional certifications (e.g., Tableau Certified Professional, Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE) for Data Analytics). stored procedures, and functions.
Proficiency in SQL: Writing complex queries, designing database schemas, creating T-SQL/PL/SQL scripts,

Expertise in data analysis tools: Python, R, Power BI, Tableau, Excel (advanced with formulas and

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills: Identify key business questions, design and execute data
analysis plans, extract actionable insights from data.
Experience and competency with EPIC and Cogito applications including (Clarity, Caboodle, Chronicles,
Radar, Reporting Workbench. Slicer Dicer, Analytics Catalog).
PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS AND TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:
Exposure to stressful situations, including those involving public contact, as well as, trauma, grief and death.
Able to wear personal protective equipment that includes latex materials or appropriate substitute if required for
your position.
Is able to move freely about facility with or without an assisted device and must be able to perform the functions
of the job as outlined in the job description.
Overall vision and hearing is necessary with or without assisted device(s).
Frequently required to sit/stand/walk for long periods of time. May require frequent postural changes such as
stooping, kneeling or crouching.
Some exposure to blood borne pathogens and other potentially infectious material. Must follow MyMichigan
Health bloodborne pathogen and TB testing as required.
Ability to handle multiple tasks, get along with others, work independently, regular and predictable attendance
and ability to stay awake.
Overall dexterity is required including handling, reaching, grasping, fingering and feeling. May require repetition
of these movements on a regular to frequent basis.
Physical Demand Level: Sedentary. Must be able to occasionally (0-33% of the workday) lift or carry 0-10 lbs.
