Senior Data Scientist
Montréal, Canada
The Sr. Data Scientist will conduct detailed analysis of data sets and provide advanced analytics solutions to solve business problems, whilst leveraging traditional statistical, machine learning and optimization techniques.

What your day to day looks like:
  • Transform complex databases compiled from different sources within the organization; Selecting and employing advanced statistical procedures to obtain actionable insights
  • Interpret, translate, and communicate analytical findings to business stakeholders through storytelling, visualization and conceptual parallels
  • Apply statistical or machine learning knowledge to specific business problems and data.
  • Develop innovative solutions for trend recognition using machine learning and advanced statistics. 
  • Use data science techniques to find data patterns, anomalies, and optimization opportunities.
  • Execution, evaluation, and reporting of A/B testing amp; cross-validating models to ensure their generalizability
  • Producing and sharing non-technical reports that detail the successes and limitations of each project
  • Staying informed about developments in Data Science and adjacent fields to ensure that outputs are always relevant.

What you bring to the table:
  • Education in Statistics, Mathematics, Quantitative Methods, or a related field.
  • Solid experience in analytics / data science with a focus on driving business decisions.
  • Experience with developing Machine Learning and statistical models.
  • Excellent programming skills using notebook environments, e.g. Jupyter, Databricks, and familiarity with SQL, Python (including standard DS libraries like Pandas, Scipy, Numpy, Matplotlib), Spark, etc.
  • Solid problem-solving approach, using statistics, analytics and reports. 
  • Experience with Consumer Products, and/or analyzing user behavior to better drive business decisions. 
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to relay insights in layman's terms, such that these can be used to inform business decisions.
