Job description

We are the movers of the world and the makers of the future. We get up every day, roll up our sleeves and build a better world -- together. At Ford, we're all a part of something bigger than ourselves.

Are you ready to change the way the world moves. The Ford Motor Credit Company team helps put people behind the wheels of great Ford and Lincoln vehicles. By partnering with dealerships, we provide financing, personalized service and professional expertise to thousands of dealers and millions of customers in over one hundred countries around the world.

The Fraud Manager is a high-impact, leadership position within Ford Credit's Risk Management Organization. It requires a blend of fraud expertise, strong leadership, organization skills, sound analytical abilities and excellent communication skills. The person in this role will be responsible for leading all fraud identification and mitigation efforts within Ford Credit's Risk Management Organization.

What you'll do... Lead, mentor, and develop a small, high-performing team of fraud analysts/investigators, fostering a culture of accountability, integrity, and continuous improvement. Oversee the end-to-end investigation of suspected fraudulent loan/lease applications, dealer transactions, and account activity, including origination, funding, and servicing fraud (e.g., identity theft, synthetic identity, straw purchases, income/employment misrepresentation, title/collateral fraud, and first-party fraud)

Develop, implement, and continuously refine fraud detection strategies, scorecards, and rules in partnership with Risk, Credit, Originations, and Technology teams to minimize losses while preserving a positive dealer and customer experience. Monitor fraud trends, emerging schemes, and industry intelligence; proactively adjust detection models and team procedures to stay ahead of evolving fraud tactics. Partner with Underwriting, Funding, Collections, Legal, and Compliance to escalate, resolve, and remediate confirmed fraud cases, including referrals to law enforcement and regulatory reporting (e.g., SARs) where required

Prepare and present regular reporting to senior leadership on fraud trends, loss metrics, case outcomes, and the effectiveness of fraud prevention controls. Manage relationships with third-party fraud detection vendors and tools, evaluating new technologies and analytics platforms to improve detection accuracy and reduce false positives. Ensure procedural compliance across fraud operations to support successful outcomes on internal and external (regulatory) audits.

Establish and maintain case management protocols, ensuring investigations are thorough, well-documented, and completed within service level expectations. Support dealer-facing fraud awareness and training efforts and serve as a subject matter expert/point of escalation for complex or high-dollar fraud cases. Ensure all PII and confidential company/customer information is handled and secured in accordance with company policy and applicable law.

Operate within headcount, staffing, and budget guidelines while managing team workload and productivity. You'll have... Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant experience

Several years of experience in fraud investigation, fraud strategy, credit risk, or loss prevention within auto finance, consumer lending, or banking, including prior people-leadership or team-lead experience. Strong working knowledge of fraud typologies relevant to auto lending (application/identity fraud, synthetic identity, straw borrowers, income/employment falsification, title and collateral fraud, dealer fraud). Working knowledge of applicable regulations and industry standards, such as FCRA, ECOA, UDAAP, GLBA, BSA/AML/SAR requirements, and Red Flags Rule.

Demonstrated analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data trends, fraud scorecards, and portfolio-level metrics to drive decision-making. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience presenting findings and recommendations to senior leadership. Proven ability to lead, coach, and develop a team while managing competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Strong collaboration skills, with experience partnering across Credit, Originations, Funding, Compliance, Legal, and Technology functions. Experience with fraud detection systems, case management tools, and/or credit bureau and identity verification platforms. Even better, you may have..

Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) or similar professional certification. Experience specifically within a captive auto finance company or auto lending environment. Familiarity with dealer-level fraud schemes and floorplan/wholesale fraud detection.

Experience building or enhancing fraud detection models, machine learning-based scoring, or rules-based fraud engines. Prior experience working with law enforcement, external investigators, or regulatory examiners on fraud matters. Experience managing third-party fraud vendor relationships and RFP/vendor evaluation processes.
