Job description

This position will be located in either our Itasca, Norwalk or Edina office in a hybrid capacity.


Position Overview

Reviews and processes new credit transaction applications to make decisions within the single signature authority granted and in compliance with Mitsubishi HC Capital America, Inc. (MHCA) credit policy focusing on full financial disclosure transactions with exposures between $1.0M - $5.0M USD. Recommends approval terms to senior credit management when more than single signature authority. Performs other hands-on administrative functions relating to documentation, funding, and collateral valuations. Assists in training and indoctrination of new credit staff hires focusing on departmental workflows and MHCA underwriting guidelines.

Commitment to Internal Control:

This position requires a comprehensive understanding of and adhere to the system of internal controls associated with the fundamental duties and responsibilities of the role. This includes compliance with SOX and all other pertinent regulatory and compliance policies and requirements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Performs in-depth credit analysis and financial evaluation of new business transactions within designated single signature authority on a timely basis
  • Prepares detailed credit write-ups of credit transactions in accordance with MHCA underwriting criteria and makes appropriate recommendations to Senior Management regarding transactions exceeding single signature authority
  • Experience in underwriting healthcare, IT, or franchise lending industries is not required but is a plus
  • Ability to review, understand, and communicate financial statements and utilize the data to risk rate transaction within their authority or communicate and present the recommendation to the approving authority in a timely manner to support MHCA field marketing force, dealers, and manufacturers
  • Interact with Operations/Legal teams to assure that the documents reflect the actual approval and commitment stipulated in their sign-off of the credit transaction
  • Provide assistance to the application only team where required by total overall application workflow

Key Performance Indicators:

  • Complete financial statement spreads and analysis, along with the Credit Memo, on credits with total exposure of $1,000,000 to $5,000,000

The position is exempt and the salary will be between $98,500 - $115,000 with an opportunity to earn a discretionary annual bonus.
