Job description

Overview

GPJ is hiring a Creative Project Manager to join our growing team. This role is hybrid, requiring you to report on-site to one of the following office locations a minimum of 2 days/week: New York City, Boston or Austin, TX.

Responsibilities
  • Work closely with the creative team, overseeing projects from the planning phase through delivery. Advocate for the creative team and remove obstacles that may arise for them. Lead process improvements when current methods aren’t working to help the team meet deadlines.
  • Create and manage the creative timeline, ensuring milestones are met and proactively flag potential threats to deadlines. Collaborate with the team to find resolutions. Own all creative requests for your team, confirming that necessary deliverables, assets, and information are in place for execution.
  • Collaborate with creative resourcing for program staffing and identify when additional resources are needed. Support the creative lead with scoping during project planning, participate in the PM grid process, and contribute where possible. Manage hours for the creative team in Deltek and coordinate with Account Operations to resolve any inaccuracies.
  • Schedule and lead creative status meetings and organize regular check-ins for the team. Attend milestone meetings, take notes, and ensure the team is aligned on next steps. Set up and maintain creative folders and Slack channels for assigned programs.
Qualifications
  • 3-5 years of previous industry/agency experience.
  • 3+ years as a Project Manager.
  • 4-year college degree; preferred fields include Marketing/Advertising/Event Management/Business Administration, Hospitality, Communications, or related.
  • Experience in Creative Operations or as a Creative Project Manager.
  • Experience juggling more than one project at a time and ability to rapidly shift focus and reprioritize tasks.
  • Experience working on large-scale events or conferences and creating/owning timelines.
  • Experience supporting a team of 5-10 creatives and using project management software (e.g., ClickUp, Monday, Google Suite).
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across departments; comfort presenting to leadership.
  • Ability to think big-picture and distill it into actionable plans; work independently and collaboratively; proactive mindset; openness to feedback.
  • Travel: ability to travel up to 10% and readiness for irregular hours as needed.
Salary and Benefits
