At Jack Henry, we're more than a technology company, we're a force for good in financial services. We're redefining how community banks and credit unions connect with the people they serve. Our mission is rooted in people inspired innovation, empowering financial institutions to deliver seamless, secure, and human centered experiences. We deliver cutting-edge solutions that are paving the way for the next generation of digital banking and payments, but our true impact begins with our associates.  If you're ready to help transform an industry and grow with a company that values purpose, collaboration, and excellence then we'd love to meet you.

We're seeking a Senior Developer Experience Engineer to join the team at a pivotal moment in our growth. As our Jack Henry developer documentation currently serves thousands of developers, it has become one of the most important touchpoints between Jack Henry and the developers who depend on us.

This role exists to own that touchpoint. You'll treat Jack Henry's developer documentation as a product: benchmarking our developer experience against industry leaders, shipping interactive docs and content infrastructure.  You'll partner closely with our engineers, SDK teams, and product partners to shape the strategy - and you'll write the code that brings the content to life. You'll join our Developer Relations team as a key partner with real influence on the strategy, tools, and culture we build together. The team is small and fast-moving, and we're looking for someone who's excited about that kind of ownership.

This is the right role for a senior engineer to own docs-as-code and infrastructure, with strategic latitude, in an already mature developer-facing platform.

This is a remote position and candidates must live within approximately a 70-mile radius of our office locations in Allen, TX; Lenexa, KS; Springfield, MO; Monett, MO; Louisville, KY; Cedar Falls, IA; Birmingham, AL; or Charlotte, NC.

This position is not eligible for immigration sponsorship and support. Please do not apply if at any time you will need immigration support now or in the future (i.e., H-1B, PERM). All positions, regardless of location, may require an onsite interview or in-person onboarding requirement to verify your identity.

What you'll be responsible for:

  • Develop and enhance the Jack Henry Developer Relations Portal following engineering best practices and standards.
  • Lead the design, planning, and delivery of new features, breaking work into clear, manageable tasks for the team.
  • Ensure reliability, scalability, performance, and quality are built into all development efforts.
  • Represent the team in technical discussions and decision-making (e.g., discovery sessions).
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues across release pipelines and production environments.
  • Own the developer documentation platform end-to-end, including architecture, UX, and roadmap, benchmarking against industry standards.
  • Design and deliver interactive, accessible documentation experiences (e.g., code samples, API explorers, tutorials, and videos).
  • Build and maintain templates, tools, and contribution guides to enable scalable documentation creation across teams.
  • Produce high-impact developer content, including guides, tutorials, and video walkthroughs.
  • Manage and continuously improve documentation infrastructure (site generation, CI/CD, previews, search, and analytics).
  • Leverage modern agentic coding tools (e.g., Claude Code, Cursor) to accelerate development and documentation workflows.
  • Establish and maintain documentation processes, including style guidelines, contribution workflows, review standards, and audit practices.
  • May perform other job duties as assigned.

What you'll need to have:

  • A minimum of 6 years of experience in documentation, developer experience, or developer education roles for a developer audience
  • Demonstrated ability to organize and structure complex technical content (information architecture/content modeling)
  • Experience improving developer documentation for usability, clarity, and navigation
  • Hands-on use of AI coding tools (e.g., Cursor, Claude Code, GitHub Copilot) in day-to-day workflows
  • Experience creating both written documentation and video/screencast content for technical audiences

What would be nice for you to have:

  • Docs-as-code experience: comfort opening PRs against the docs platform itself - modifying site generators, CI workflows, content tooling, and search infrastructure - not just authoring Markdown.
  • Strategic and audit thinking: experience benchmarking documentation, identifying systemic gaps, and producing actionable roadmaps - not just executing the next ticket
  • Familiarity with OpenAPI specifications or interactive API documentation
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science.
  • Previous experience developing technical documentation for engineers or developers.
  • Proficiency with Web Components.
  • Familiarity with Polymer or Lit.
  • Solid understanding of security, API design, design patterns, and browser environment.
  • Experience with front-end build systems such as webpack or rollup.
  • Experience with Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) systems.
  • Experience tracing a request through the network stack.
  • Experience with SSOs, Plugins, or APIs.
  • Experience implementing OAuth2/OpenID Connect.
  • Experience supporting an application in production.

If you got this far, we hope you're feeling excited about this opportunity. Even if you don't feel you meet every single requirement on this posting, we still encourage you to apply. We're looking for passionate, driven individuals who align with our mission and can bring unique perspectives to our team.
