The Royal Caribbean Group's Corporate Communications Team has an exciting career opportunity for a full time Senior Specialist, Editorial Content reporting to the AVP, Corporate Communications.
The position is onsite and based in Miami, Florida.
The position is also not eligible for work authorization sponsorship.
Position Summary:
The Senior Specialist, Editorial Content will be a key storyteller, ready to promote the corporation through all forms of digital media, including social, video (live and pre-produced), audio, photo, web, app, and written platforms. The successful candidate will possess excellent social media experience that includes developing content, increasing engagement and reporting analytics, and the ability to produce content that educates and engages all stakeholder audiences. This individual will manage our corporate social media accounts, ensuring a cohesive and strategic approach across platforms. Additionally, this person will help develop content for our corporate website, internal emails and newsletter, our intranet, digital screens, and more, distributing it effectively across respective platforms. You can think of this role as a key content developer, focused on creating and curating impactful stories that align with our brand and communication goals.
Responsibilities:
Social Media (70%)
  • Create and execute a comprehensive corporate social media strategy, focusing on both a cohesive overall vision as well as platform- and audience-specific plans.
  • Create and plan content for daily social posts for all platforms (LinkedIn, X, Facebook, WhatsApp, YouTube) that engage and grow our audiences, building meaningful connections with followers.
  • Develop innovative and engaging content by monitoring trends and experimenting with the tools and features offered by each social media platform to create diverse and unique content.
  • Ensure social content strategically aligns with communications objectives and resonates with each platform audience authentically, ultimately increasing positive sentiment and awareness.
  • Liaise with brand Social Media teams to monitor social conversations and identify potential threats; assess and analyze the social climate around different issues.
  • Manage a social media editorial content calendar and ensure it dovetails with the overall department content calendar.
  • Coordinate production logistics and assignments for photo and video needs and other digital media projects in collaboration with internal teams.
  • Edit organic video content for social media platforms to enhance engagement and storytelling.
  • Maintain constant awareness of key strategic initiatives and how social media can support those initiatives.
  • Regularly review social media content performance and adjust tactics accordingly; report monthly.
  • Continue to monitor, cultivate, and build upon our corporate online social media presence.

Content Development and Support (30%)
  • Assist in the creation and editing of compelling corporate storytelling content for internal and external channels including but not limited to, corporate website internal newsletter and emails, campus monitors, intranet, and more.
  • Participate and contribute to monthly and weekly content planning meetings with relevant partners on the Corporate Communications team.
  • Participate in creative development and brainstorming of visual content.
  • Discover what's new by meeting with different teams to uncover the stories we should be sharing throughout the company.
  • Ensure content coherence, style, accuracy, grammatical correctness, and adherence to brand and editorial guidelines.
  • Input on measurement needs and review measurement analyses to identify how content is performing and moving the needle, making recommendations on iterations to fine-tune the editorial approach.
  • Conduct editorial briefings directly with clients to build the framework of stories we want to tell on social, and lead ongoing story mining to develop content calendars, story trackers, and conduct SME interviews, where relevant.

Preferred skills and qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Digital Journalism, Digital Media, Journalism, Communications, Marketing, English, Public Relations, or related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience working in social media and/or content development.
  • Knowledge of and adherence to AP Style.
  • Experience developing written and visual content.
  • Experience creating content for communications campaigns on major social and digital platforms including Facebook, Google, Twitter, Instagram, and LinkedIn, and the ability to translate analytics.
  • Storytelling and content development, editing, and writing skills across a broad range of formats (social media, blog posts, video, etc.).
  • Great communicator able to simplify the complex for impactful copy.
  • Self-motivated, adaptable, detail-oriented, able to handle multiple projects and problem-solve.
  • Thrives in a collaborative environment.
  • Experience with content management and social/digital publishing and monitoring platforms such as (but not exclusively) Sprout Social, Hootsuite, Facebook Business Manager, Brandwatch, Adobe Analytics, Google Ads; Office 365 Suite, and Adobe Creative Cloud; basic HTML.
