Job Description:

Providing for loved ones, planning rewarding retirements, saving enough for whatever lies ahead - our policyholders count on us to be there when it matters most. It's a big ask, but it's one that we have the power to deliver when we work together. We collaborate and innovate - pushing one another to transform not just Pacific Life, but the entire industry for the better. Why? Because it's the right thing to do. Pacific Life is more than a job, it's a career with purpose. It's a career where you have the support, balance, and resources to make a positive impact on the future - including your own.

We're actively seeking a talented Senior Systems Analyst to join our Legal & Compliance Technology Team in Newport Beach, CA.

As a Senior Systems Analyst, you will play a critical role in Pacific Life's growth and longterm success by serving as a key liaison between Legal, Compliance, and Technology. You will partner closely with business stakeholders and delivery teams to translate complex regulatory and legal requirements into scalable, wellgoverned technology solutions.

You will join a highly collaborative technology team supporting Legal and Compliance applications within the Corporate Division. This is a fastpaced, outcomedriven environment where clarity, judgment, and strong communication are essential. Your peers will include Developers, Application Administrators, and other professionals within the broader technology organization.

How you will make an impact:

  • Elicit, analyze, and document complex business and technical requirements, translating them into clear, actionable user stories and functional specifications with welldefined acceptance criteria.
  • Serve as a trusted partner to business and technology stakeholders, leading working sessions and discussions to support the delivery of small to midsize initiatives.
  • Develop deep understanding of application workflows, integrations, and data flows across the Legal and Compliance technology portfolio.
  • Create and maintain high-quality technical and process documentation, ensuring solutions are supportable, auditable, and aligned with enterprise standards.
  • Own and manage quality assurance and test automation activities, including:
    • Designing and maintaining automated test scenarios (UI, API, and/or regression tests) aligned to business requirements and critical workflows.
    • Developing comprehensive test plans, test cases, and automation artifacts that support repeatable, reliable validation.
    • Ensuring test coverage and traceability between requirements, user stories, and automated/manual tests.
  • Partner with development teams to embed test automation early in the delivery lifecycle, supporting faster feedback and reduced regression risk in a regulated environment.
  • Coordinate User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and validate that automated and manual test results support business readiness and regulatory expectations.
  • Contribute to the definition and continuous improvement of test automation standards, working within established frameworks and tooling to improve consistency, quality, and release confidence across Legal and Compliance platforms.
  • Act as frontline support for incidents, escalations, and complex business inquiries, partnering with product teams and platform teams to drive resolution.
  • Collaborate within an Agile delivery model to help teams prioritize work, manage dependencies, and deliver value incrementally.
  • Demonstrate a continuous learning mindset, enabling creative problemsolving and the ability to effectively adopt new technologies quickly.

The experience you will bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Information Systems, Business Administration, or equivalent education and experience.
  • 5-8 years of experience in a systems analysis or related role within a financial services or other highly regulated environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with both business and technical audiences.
  • Demonstrated analytical and problemsolving skills, including the ability to navigate ambiguity and complex requirements with a high degree of attention to detail.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, & SharePoint).
  • Strong working knowledge of Agile methodologies, including Scrum and/or Kanban.
  • Moderate to advanced SQL skills, with experience analyzing data to support requirements, testing, or issue resolution.
  • Experience supporting or developing automated testing solutions and familiarity with modern testing frameworks and software such as Selenium and Playwright, including regression or API testing. This also requires some experience with scripting languages such as Python and PowerShell.

What will make you stand out:

  • Proven success leading or coordinating small to midsize technology initiatives from requirements through delivery.
  • Experience modernizing, enhancing, or automating business processes and systems in a regulated environment.
  • Ability to identify and apply AI-driven approaches to improve efficiency, coverage, and quality within test automation processes.
  • Familiarity with integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines or Azure DevOps workflows is a plus.
  • Experience supporting Legal, Compliance, Risk, or GRC platforms is a strong plus.
