This role exists to design, build, and scale Dollar General’s enterprise agentic AI capabilities that transform workflows, decision-making, and employee productivity. The Senior Director owns the strategy, platforms, and execution of agentic systems that combine LLMs, tools, workflows, and enterprise data into reliable, governed, outcome-driven solutions. This leader ensures agentic AI is safely operationalized at scale with measurable business value.


Job Details

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Define and lead enterprise strategy for agentic AI systems, including autonomous workflows, copilots, and decision-support agents
  •  Build and scale teams responsible for agent frameworks, orchestration layers, tool integration, and runtime governance
  • Own end-to-end lifecycle of agentic systems from use-case design through deployment, monitoring, and continuous improvement
  • Partner with business, IT, security, legal, and HR to embed agents into core workflows responsibly and compliantly
  • Establish standards for agent reliability, evaluation, safety, auditability, and value realization.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

  • Deep understanding of agentic AI architectures, LLM orchestration, and tool-augmented reasoning
  • Experience designing autonomous or semi-autonomous systems operating in enterprise environments
  • Strong grasp of workflow automation, decision intelligence, and human-in-the-loop system design
  • Proven ability to operationalize AI safely with governance, observability, and controls
  • Experience leading senior technical teams building platform-level AI capabilities
  • Strong executive communication and cross-functional influence skills
  • Ability to translate complex AI concepts into business-relevant outcomes
  • Experience integrating AI systems with enterprise applications and data platforms
