Compensation Overview

The annual base salary range provided for this position is a nationwide market range and represents a broad range of salaries for this role across the country. The actual salary for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment. As part of our comprehensive compensation and benefits program, employees are also eligible for performance-based cash incentive awards.

What Is the Opportunity?

At Travelers, our Print Center Operations teams ensures the reliable operation of a variety of printers, inserters, finishing, or mail processing machines in the Output Processing Center. Through the prioritization of operations and workflow, this team ensures the efficient use of processing equipment and other resources across the enterprise. As a Peripheral Operator, you will develop skills to operate and troubleshoot hardware to execute basic services and perform a variety of clerical tasks. Additionally, periodic assignments involving manual document assembly or equipment preparation may be within the scope of the position. This is a worksite essential position which requires that all duties are performed at a Travelers office or sanctioned offsite location.

What Will You Do?

  • With supervision from a more senior staff member, operate computer peripheral equipment such as printers, finishing, material handling or mail processing machines and prepare production control reports.
  • Troubleshoot basic peripheral machine issues and provide service actions to ensure stable operation of equipment and escalate to a lead operator or supervisor as appropriate.
  • Interact with computer terminals or personal computers to queue work and plan individual job layout, materials to accomplish production.
  • Perform manual document assembly, postage application, or packaging as needed.
  • Identify production situations that are not correct, such as documents out of sequence, inappropriate fliers, quality issues in printing or stock, and, in unexpected delays in equipment support.
  • Clearly communicate with unit lead operators, team lead and managers.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What Will Our Ideal Candidate Have?

  • One year of print center related work experience.
  • A general working knowledge of computer peripheral hardware or the ability to learn this knowledge is required as entry into this position.
  • Foundational knowledge of Microsoft office products.

What is a Must Have?

  • High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • A solid grasp of basic math skills.
  • Must be able to lift and carry weight up to 50 lbs. regularly
