PAY RANGE

The Target Pay Range for this position is $104,000.00-$126,900.00 annually. The full Pay Range is $80,800.00 - $150,200.00 annually. At BECU, compensation decisions are determined using factors such as relevant job-related skills, experience, and education or training. Should an offer for employment be made, we will consider individual qualifications. In addition to your salary, compensation incentives are available for the hired applicant. Incentives are performance based and targets vary by role.

As the Internal Communications Manager at BECU, youโ€™ll be at the heart of how we inform, inspire, and engage our employee community. Your work will shape how our people connect with BECUโ€™s Purpose, vision, values, and strategiesโ€”making sure every team member understands not just the what, but the why.

In this role, youโ€™ll serve as the primary internal communications partner for three critical areas of the organization: Technology, RCC (Risk, Compliance & Cyber) and Operations. Youโ€™ll lead high-impact initiatives, craft thoughtful communications, and serve as a trusted advisor to leadership across these teams. Your influence will help bring our culture to life, drive clarity through change, and cultivate a sense of unity across the organization. WHAT YOUโ€™LL DO
  • Strategize for Engagement: Develop and implement tailored internal communications strategies that support employee engagement and awareness across Technology, Risk, Compliance & Cyber, and Operations teams.
  • Partner with Leaders: Build strong relationships with credit union leaders across your divisions, including the Executive Management Team, offering strategic communication recommendations that align with BECUโ€™s goals.
  • Craft High-Impact Messaging: Develop content in various formatsโ€”email, intranet articles, presentations, infographics, video scripts, and moreโ€”to support change initiatives, cultural engagement, and executive visibility.
  • Maintain Editorial Consistency: Work closely with internal and external communications teams to align messaging, calendars, and campaign priorities across platforms and channels.
  • Measure & Optimize: Define metrics to evaluate communication effectiveness, identify trends, and adjust strategies to ensure continued relevance and impact.
  • Enhance Communication Channels: Continuously manage and improve internal communications methods, ensuring they effectively support BECUโ€™s strategic objectives in collaboration with relevant stakeholders.
  • Support Special Events: Participate in on-site company events, conferences, and meetings to ensure alignment and support for communication efforts.
  • Additional Contributions: Perform other duties as assigned, contributing to the overall success of the Internal Communications team and BECU.

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in English, Journalism, Communications, or equivalent work experience.
  • Typically requires 5+ years of corporate writing, editing, creative design, or content management experience.
  • Typically requires 3+ years managing complex enterprise-level projects from start to finish.
Desired Qualifications:
  • Ability to adapt quickly and learn new platforms and tools.
  • Experience managing agency/vendor partnerships for communications deliverables.
  • Proven success in managing internal communication programs and building effective relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Experience using Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint).
  • Experience with business writing utilizing AP Style, editing, and proofreading skills.
  • Skilled in verbal communication and cross-functional consensus building.
  • Experience with design platforms like Canva or Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Proficiency in video direction, editing, and production.
