Senior Manager, Games Insights

Gamesย Insights &ย Learning is a critical function for any Olympic and Paralympic Organizingย Committee (OCOG) -ย ensuring that institutional knowledge, operational insights, and best practicesย developed throughout the planning of the LA28 Olympic and Paralympic Games areย captured,ย organized, andย transferred acrossย the organization to support successful Games deliveryย andย to other key Olympic and Paralympic Movement stakeholdersย 

Reporting to the VP, Games Insights & Learning, this role will serve as a key leader within the function, helping to shape strategy,ย establishย operating frameworks, and drive execution across the team's core responsibilities.ย ย ย 

This role willย leadย the development of LA28's strategy for the collection, management, andย ultimateย transfer of LA28 knowledge assets.ย ย Working across a highly matrixed organization, this role will develop the frameworks, business processes, and governance structuresย necessary to capture operational planning documentation, reports, artefacts, memorabiliaย and other OCOG-produced content (OPC) that contribute to the institutional knowledge and legacy of the LA28 Games.ย ย ย 

In addition, this role will also play an integral role in the development and delivery of the LA28 Observers Program, helping ensureย future Organizing Committees of the Olympic and Paralympic Games (Future OCOGs)ย gain access to the operational knowledge,ย expertise, and experiences generated by LA28.ย ย ย 

This is a highly cross-functional role, ideal for someone withย exceptionalย strategic thinking,ย program development, knowledge management,ย relational management, organizational influence, and communication skills.ย ย The successful candidate will be equallyย comfortableย developing big picture strategy, designing scalable processes, and managingย execution across multiple workstreams and stakeholder groups.ย ย ย 

Key Responsibilities:

Knowledge Transfer, Content Strategy & Organizational Learningย 

  • Lead the development and implementation of LA28's strategy for the collection, organization, and transfer of knowledge assets in support of future Games andย the overallย Olympicย and Paralympicย Movement.ย 
  • Establish and overseeย scalable frameworks, best practices, and processesย forย the collection,ย cataloguingย andย management ofย OCOG-produced contentย (OPC)ย throughout the Games lifecycle.ย ย 
  • Partner with Functional Areasย toย identify, prioritize, andย captureย operational planning documentation,ย playbooks,ย official publications, reports, andย other materials developed throughout the Games lifecycle.ย ย 
  • Develop and manage processes for the collection and preservation of Games-related artefactsย andย memorabilia that contribute to the institutional legacy of LA28.ย 
  • Monitorย and manageย progress against knowledge transferย objectives, milestones, risks, and dependencies, providingย regular executive-levelย reporting.ย ย 
  • Develop executive briefings, governance materials, policies, and communications that support organizational knowledge management and transfer initiativesย 

Observer Program Development & Deliveryย 

  • Serve as a key member of the Games Insights & Learning team responsible for the development and delivery of the LA28 Observer Programย for Future OCOGs.ย ย 
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to define learning opportunities, observationย objectives, and engagement opportunities thatย showcaseย LA28 planning and delivery practices.ย ย 
  • Plan and execute LA28 Observerย Program activities, including workshops,ย venue visits, operationalย briefings, and post-eventย knowledge sharing engagements.ย ย 
  • Provide leadership and guidance to team members supporting Observer Program delivery and related stakeholder engagement activities.ย ย 

Functional Leadership & Program Managementย 

  • Serve as aย strategicย partner to the VP, Games Insights & Learning, helpingย establishย priorities, operating plans, resource requirements, and long-term functionalย objectives.ย ย 
  • Drive integration across Observer Programย andย Knowledge Transfer to ensure a cohesive organizational learning strategy.ย ย 
  • Lead cross-functional working groups and governance forums responsible for knowledge capture, content management, and Games learning initiatives.
Background & Requirements:

Required

  • Bachelor's degree required or equivalent work experienceย 
  • 10+ years of experience in program leadership, strategic planning, knowledge management, stakeholder engagement, management consulting, or large-scale operational deliveryย 
  • Experience developingย strategyย and deliveringย new programsย andย processes from concept to implementation.ย ย 
  • Demonstratedย experienceย managingย complex, cross-functional initiatives involving senior executives andย multipleย stakeholders,ย and evolving business requirementsย 
  • Proven ability to translate strategicย objectivesย into scalable programs, frameworks, and operational outcomesย 
  • Discretion and professionalism in managing sensitive information and relationships.ย 
  • Exceptional written,ย verbal, facilitation, and executiveย communication skills.ย 
  • Strong proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Sharepoint)ย ย 

Preferred

  • Direct Games experience atย a previousย OCOG, multi-sport Games,ย other major event, or museums/cultural institutionsย 
  • Extremely detail-oriented with excellent organizational skillsย 
  • Self-starter with experience in defining tasks, iterating, and evolving workย 
  • Multilingual skills or experience in international or multicultural settings.ย

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
  • Available to work onsite in our Downtown Los Angeles-based office.ย

  • The LA28 office is anopen floorplanworking environment; employees must be able to work efficiently in anopen cubicleenvironment.ย 
  • Hours of work may vary, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, especially during peak event periods.ย 
  • Perform other duties asrequired; the role will evolve over time and may include operational responsibilities during the Olympic and Paralympic Games.ย 

The annual base salary range for this position is $105,000.00 - $140,000.00. The pay scale provided is the range that LA28 reasonably expects to pay as starting base compensation for this role. All LA28 compensation remains subject to final determination based on individual candidate qualifications, experience, or other reasonable criteria consistent with LA28's operational business needs and applicable law.
