WHAT YOU'LL DO Ascend Learning is hiring for a Senior System Engineer. The Senior Systems Engineer will be responsible for the implementation and support of the company's systems infrastructure. This position is highly technical in nature, requires excellent technical skills in a variety of competencies, and the ability to learn and adopt new technologies. The Senior Systems Engineer will join a team of highly motivated engineers who are passionate about technology. The team is responsible for supporting our 24x7 systems infrastructure. WHERE YOU'LL WORK This position will work a hybrid schedule from one of our office locations in Leawood, KS or Burlington, MA. HOW YOU'LL SPEND YOUR TIME Implement and support the organization's systems infrastructure and cloud hosting platforms Evaluate current systems environments, conduct research, recommend, and implement innovate systems technology that can enhance the reliability, security, productivity, and efficiency of the IT infrastructure Develop and maintain documentation of design, as well as on-going operation and administration of systems infrastructure Contribute to and maintain technical standards for systems infrastructure Provide mentoring and act as an escalation point for junior-level engineers, administrators, and technicians Provide Third-tier support for the efficient resolution of systems-related incidents, service requests, and problems; and update service desk management tool accordingly Assist other IT functional teams to troubleshoot critical business systems Solve complex problems with many variables WHAT YOU'LL NEED High school diploma or GED required.
