Job description

Cimarron is seeking mid-level and senior-level CNC Machinists with G&L VTL experience to support the design and development of next-generation launch vehicles and spacecraft near Austin in Briggs, TX. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to missions spanning orbital launch, spaceflight, and lunar exploration as part of a rapidly growing commercial space program. The selected candidates for this position will need to be able to support 2nd shift assignment.

Key Duties: Machine high-quality parts. Read and follow technical drawings and diagrammed instructions. Inspect and document one's own manufactured parts.

Perform machine set-ups for part manufacturing. Perform edits as needed. Abide by all safety standards.

Report any safety or maintenance concerns to management immediately. Keep all work areas clean and organized. Hold oneself to a high standard of quality, taking pride in one's work.

Be available to work 1st or 2nd shifts, overtime as needed.Required Skills, Experience, and Education: Due to facility security requirements, only U.S. citizens or permanent residents are eligible for consideration at this time. Ability to complete a pre-employment background check and drug screening, which will include but is not limited to testing for marijuana use

4 or more years of experience as a CNC Machinist. Experience operating Giddings & Lewis (G&L) Vertical Turning Lathes (VTLs), including machining large, heavy, and complex components such as engine blocks, turbine rotors, and large gears. Demonstrated ability to perform precision turning, boring, and facing operations while maintaining tight tolerances.

Familiarity with CNC controls, machine setup, and leveraging vertical spindle configurations to ensure safe, stable, and efficient workpiece handling. Passion to build Spacecraft and Rocket components. Ability to perform physically demanding work, including standing, bending, and lifting up to 25 lbs.

Positive attitude, reliable, and a team player. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Proficient in math and computer skills as they apply to CNC machining operations.

Ability to support 1st and 2nd shift assignments, overtime, and weekend work, as needed. Additional requirements for senior-level: 8 or more years of experience as a CNC Machinist. Desired Skills, Experience, and Education: Experience with Mazak, DMG Mori, and Okuma equipment.
