Join Henry & Peters, one of Texas' most respected public accounting firms, as a Senior Associate in our Longview office. This is an opportunity for professionals ready to take ownership of engagements, mentor staff, and build deeper client relationships while continuing their career progression.
Henry & Peters is a middle-market CPA firm with over 130 employees, serving clients in Tax, Audit & Assurance, and Client Accounting Services. We have offices in Tyler, Longview, and Frisco, with clients throughout the U.S. We value long-term relationships, professionalism, and meaningful community involvement.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
General
  • Supervise, train, and mentor staff associates through review and feedback
  • Manage multiple engagements and deadlines efficiently
  • Communicate professionally with clients, managers, and engagement teams
  • Ensure work is performed in compliance with firm standards

Availability in all practice areas:
Tax
  • Prepare and review individual, trust, estate, partnership, S-corporation, and C-corporation tax returns
  • Research complex tax issues and provide well-supported recommendations
  • Serve as in-charge on tax engagements, including client communication and coordination
  • Assist with tax planning opportunities and review deliverables prepared by staff

Audit
  • Lead audit and review engagements under the supervision of managers and partners
  • Plan and perform audit procedures to meet engagement objectives
  • Supervise and review audit fieldwork performed by staff accountants
  • Prepare and review financial statements and related reports
  • Identify issues and propose practical solutions

Client Accounting Services (CAS)
  • Serve as in-charge on client accounting engagements
  • Review general ledger activity, reconciliations, and financial statements
  • Supervise preparation and review of payroll, payroll tax filings, and reporting
  • Assist clients with accounting system issues and process improvements
  • Support managers and partners with special projects and consulting engagements

WHAT YOU BRING
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting or related field
  • Minimum 2+ years of public accounting experience
  • CPA license preferred or eligibility to sit for the CPA exam
  • Strong analytical, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively in a team environment
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, Adobe, QuickBooks, and tax/audit software (Lacerte, CCH, etc.) preferred
