\n About the Position:<\/b>
<\/span><\/span>\n <\/div>\n
\n The Security Operations Engineer shall be responsible for implementing new firewall architectures, upgrades and features as necessary and assisting in the administration of all information security firewalls to include updates, upgrades, policy administration, and validation.
<\/span><\/span>\n <\/div>\n

  • Ensure compliance with security policies, develop and update IT security documentation, provide related status <\/span><\/span><\/span>reports, briefings, schedules, and project plans in written form.<\/span><\/span><\/span>
    <\/span><\/span><\/li>\n
  • Plan and implement security reviews for changes impacting hardware, software, baselines, connections, or applications.
    <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n
  • Collaborate with staff to plan and implement new firewall architectures, upgrades and features as necessary.
    <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n
  • Assist in the administration of all firewalls to include updates, upgrades, policy administration, and validation.
    <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n
  • Perform other security related tasks, including vulnerability scanning and log management.
    <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n
  • Assist in reviewing and implementing customer changes consistent with existing policies.
    <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n
  • Review and update documentation to ensure consistency with current procedures.
    <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n
  • Manage and tune additional software blades associated with firewall architecture (IPS, URL, Application Control, AV, Advanced Malware detection).
    <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n
  • Follow industry best practices, NIST SP 800\-53, and agency security policy standards to identify gaps and inefficiencies in the security infrastructure and provide options for resolving them.
    <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n
  • Make recommendations to modernize Client's security infrastructure in a more effective and efficient manner.
    <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n
  • Explain new security requirements to IRM&TS staff and contractors to support implementation.
    <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n
  • Work outside of normal business hours to support outage resolution, planned maintenance, or to implement an upgrade.
    <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n
  • Perform other related duties.<\/span><\/span><\/span>

    Requirements<\/h3>\n
    \n Basic Qualifications and Required Skills:<\/b><\/span>

    • Bachelor's degree in an IT\-related field with <\/span><\/span>Eight (8) years of experience in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
      <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n
    • Minimum six (6) years of experience configuring and administering firewall technologies such as carrier class Checkpoint Firewalls, Palo Alto and Network Security Policy Management.<\/span><\/span><\/span>
      <\/li>\n
    • Top Secret security clearance is not a must for well\-qualified candidates<\/b>.<\/b><\/span><\/span><\/span>
      <\/li>\n
    • Any of the mentioned Certifications are required; CCSE, CISSP, CISM, Security+, CASP.<\/b><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n
    • In\-depth knowledge of security operations, including firewall rules and security policies.<\/span>
      <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n
    • Strong networking ability and knowledge of firewall platforms to assist in rapid identification and isolation of issues during incidents and outages.
      <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n
    • Experience working with RMF and NIST SP 800\-53 (Rev 4\/5).<\/span>
      <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n
    • Expert knowledge of RMF accreditation packages and all steps of the RMF process.<\/span>
      <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n
    • Knowledge of cyber\-attack patterns, tactics, techniques, and procedures.<\/span>
      <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n
    • Ability to adapt security processes\/tools to evolving landscapes and risk scenarios.<\/span>
      <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n
    • Strong knowledge of Checkpoint firewall hardware modifications.<\/span>
      <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n
    • Strong knowledge of iBoss Cloud IPS and IDS configurations.<\/span>
      <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n
    • Strong knowledge of SSLV Symantec security application.<\/span>
      <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n
    • Ability to work both independently and within a team environment.<\/span>
