Job description

Shift Lead - CGC Comics - Second Shift
Sarasota, FL, On-site, Full-time, Monday-Friday (2nd Shift: 6:00 PM - 2:30 AM)
We're looking for a Shift Lead to join our CGC Comics division to be a working lead who supports daily operations and serves as the primary point of contact for employees during the evening shift. This role provides guidance to a team of 10+ employees, helps manage workflow, answers questions, and ensures work is completed safely, efficiently, and on schedule in our Sarasota, FL office.

WHAT YOU WILL DO AS THE SHIFT LEAD
  • Provide day-to-day support and direction to employees during 2nd shift.
  • Monitor workflow and help maintain productivity.
  • Answer employee questions and resolve routine issues.
  • Communicate priorities and ensure work is completed accurately and on time.
  • Escalate safety, quality, equipment, or operational concerns to management.
  • Assist with training and onboarding of new employees.
  • Work alongside the team to support departmental goals.
  • Provide shift updates and communicate key information to the Department Supervisor.

Note: This is a non-supervisory hourly position with no direct reports. Employees report to the Department Supervisor, who maintains responsibility for performance management, scheduling, attendance, and disciplinary actions.
WHAT MAKES YOU THE IDEAL CANDIDATE
Required:
  • 2+ years of experience in a warehouse, manufacturing, distribution, or operations environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead by example and work effectively with a team.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, manage workflow, and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Preferred:
  • Previous experience as a Lead, Trainer, Senior Operator, or similar informal leadership role.
  • Experience coordinating the work of multiple employees on a shift.
  • Experience training or mentoring team members.
  • Spanish-English bilingual proficiency is preferred to support effective communication with a diverse workforce.
