Work EnvironmentThis remote position offers a climate-controlled office setting, allowing you flexible work hours while engaging in daily interactions with multidisciplinary healthcare providers via telecommuting. As a member of our outpatient clinic team, you will have the opportunity to contribute to a collaborative health care model that prioritizes patient-centered care.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct comprehensive assessments and diagnoses when necessary, utilizing tools such as the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM) to develop individualized treatment plans based on patient needs and cultural considerations.
- Implement evidence-based strategies that ensure the effectiveness of mental health care interventions, tracking patient progress while making timely adjustments to care as needed.
- Foster strong therapeutic relationships by collaborating with patients, their families, and other care providers to create a robust, effective treatment plan.
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive treatment records using current technologies, ensuring compliance with all regulatory and departmental requirements.
- Actively participate in team meetings, providing peer support and engaging in clinical collaboration, audit activities, and coaching to enhance team performance and skills.
- Promote patient well-being by coordinating referral options and maintaining effective communication with other clinicians and agencies involved in patient care.
- Engage in educational activities, offering mentorship to students, interns, and emerging healthcare professionals.
The LCSW will specifically work with individuals and families impacted by cancer. This includes addressing a variety of emotional and psychological challenges associated with a cancer diagnosis—promoting coping strategies, mental resilience, and overall psychological well-being in a supportive, understanding environment.
Qualifications- Master’s degree in Social Work from an accredited program.
- Current and valid State License as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW).
- Strong understanding of evidence-based practices in mental health, particularly in managing life-threatening illnesses.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to foster positive relationships with patients and colleagues.
- Experience in working with cancer patients and familiarity with the unique challenges they face.
- Previous roles in outpatient clinical settings will give a significant advantage.
- Training or certifications in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) or other relevant therapeutic modalities.
