Job description

JOB SUMMARY

The Maintenance Associate Senior will be responsible for ensuring the buiding and surrounding facilities remain safe, clean, operational, and well-maintained.

Required:

- Mechanical aptitude with something to show for it - automotive, diesel, farm equipment, HVAC, machine shop, trade school, military maintenance, or similar hands-on background

- Comfortable with common hand tools

- Able to communicate clearly in English, verbally and in writing: describe equipment faults and symptoms to engineers, supervisors, and vendor support, understand verbal safety instructions, and document issues in work orders

- Basic computer comfort - can use a laptop to open a web interface and read error logs. Not an IT role, but someone who won't touch software can't do this job.

- Can read and follow written procedures and complete work orders accurately

- Physically able to stand a full shift, climb, lift up to 50 lbs, reach into equipment

- Available for the posted shift, including nights, weekends, and holiday coverage

- Solid attendance record

  • Pay rate: 25.00 +1.00 shift differential
  • Shift schedule 2pm-10pm Monday through Friday
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
    • Perform general facility maintenance responsibilities such as: Painting, Landscaping, Janitorial Duties, Pest Control, Drywall Patching, Concrete Patching, and Power Washing
    • Maintain building cleanliness, organization, and appearance throughout the facility.
    • Perform heavy cleaning duties, including cleaning floors, loading docks, walls, windows, and common areas.
    • Remove trash, debris, snow, and other hazards from sidewalks, dock areas, and facility grounds.

    Equipment Maintenance

    • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on facility equipment and systems.
    • Monitor, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair Powered Industrial Trucks (PIT), including forklifts and other warehouse equipment.
    • Assist with maintenance and support of conveyors and material handling systems.
    • Inspect facility equipment regularly to identify operational concerns and recommend corrective actions.

    Safety & Compliance

    • Monitor and maintain fire safety systems throughout the facility.
    • Ensure all maintenance activities are completed in accordance with company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
    • Identify and report safety hazards and facility concerns promptly.
    • Support a safe working environment by maintaining clean and functional workspaces.

    Operational Support

    • Deliver timely responses to maintenance requests from internal customers and operations teams.
    • Proactively communicate maintenance workload needs and resource requirements when demand exceeds planned capacity.
    • Notify operations of anticipated downtime and coordinate repair activities to minimize business disruption.
    • Escalate facilities, equipment, or safety issues requiring additional support or resources.
    • Monitor maintenance workload throughout the shift and assist with prioritization of work assignments.
    • Perform additional duties and projects assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • High school education, or GED equivalent.
  • 3+ years of Maintenance experience.
  • Strong troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance skills.
  • Ability to work safely with facility systems, tools, and maintenance equipment.
  • Basic understanding of electrical, mechanical, and building maintenance concepts.

Preferred:

  • 3+ years of maintenance experience in a warehouse, distribution center, or eCommerce fulfillment environment.
  • 2+ years of experience maintaining conveyors and powered industrial equipment.
  • Experience supporting facility infrastructure and material handling systems.
  • Knowledge of warehouse safety standards and fire safety systems.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Work requires moderate muscular exertion and/or physical strain such as frequently climbing or, recurring bending, lifting, or lowering of items weight up to 50 pounds.
  • Requires lifting/lowering, pushing, or pulling of various items of varying weight.

- Electrical troubleshooting - multimeter, low-voltage DC control circuits, wiring diagrams

- Any exposure to sensors, PLCs, conveyors, or automated equipment

- Backgrounds that transfer well: military electronics/avionics, elevator or medical device field service, packaging line mechanics
