Job description

A leading international law firm is seeking a Senior Banking & Finance Lawyer to join its highly regarded New York practice. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced finance lawyer to join a sophisticated team advising major financial institutions, private equity sponsors, borrowers and corporate clients on complex, high-value financing transactions.

The successful candidate will have substantial experience across leveraged finance, acquisition finance, secured lending, asset-based lending and/or general corporate finance, with a strong track record of handling sophisticated transactions from inception through to completion. Experience acting for private equity sponsors, banks and other financial institutions would be particularly attractive. The role will involve significant client exposure and the opportunity to work on complex domestic and cross-border transactions.

The successful lawyer will join a high-performing and collaborative team with access to an exceptional flow of sophisticated work. The platform offers excellent opportunities to develop client relationships, take increasing responsibility on transactions and work alongside leading lawyers across complementary private equity, M&A, restructuring and finance practices.

The ideal candidate will have:
  • Strong banking & finance experience from a leading US or international law firm.
  • Excellent leveraged, acquisition, secured or corporate finance experience.
  • Experience acting for lenders, borrowers, sponsors or financial institutions.
  • Strong drafting, negotiation and transaction-management skills.
  • Excellent academic and professional credentials.
  • Strong commercial awareness and client-facing skills.
  • New York Bar admission, or eligibility to practise in New York.
