Job Summary:
Ennoble First is a company supporting and securing complex government, defense, and intelligence projects. They are seeking a Senior Backend Software Engineer to develop scalable backend services for a high-visibility application used for data analysis and operational decision-making.
Responsibilities:
โ€ข Backend Development: Design, develop, test, and maintain backend services using Java or Python
โ€ข REST API Development: Design and implement RESTful services to support application functionality and integrations
โ€ข Object-Oriented Design: Apply strong object-oriented design principles to build scalable and maintainable systems
โ€ข Database Development: Write and optimize SQL queries to support application functionality and performance
โ€ข Data Source Integration Coordination: Coordinate with external teams to understand data sources, interfaces, and access patterns, and translate requirements into backend integrations
โ€ข System Design Contribution: Participate in technical design discussions and contribute to backend architecture decisions
โ€ข Linux Environments: Develop, deploy, and troubleshoot applications within Linux-based environments

Qualifications:
Required:
โ€ข Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field with 8โ€“12 years of experience; or a Master's degree with 6โ€“10 years of experience
โ€ข Active TS/SCI clearance with the ability to successfully pass a Polygraph
โ€ข Strong professional experience developing backend applications in Java or Python
โ€ข Proven ability to design and develop RESTful APIs that support scalable application functionality
โ€ข Solid SQL experience, including writing and optimizing queries across relational databases
โ€ข Confident working in Linux-based environments
โ€ข Ability to work independently and drive solutions to moderately complex and complex technical challenges
Preferred:
โ€ข Experience with Apache Airflow or similar workflow orchestration technologies
โ€ข Experience with geospatial data and querying (e.g., PostGIS)
โ€ข Experience with Spring Boot, Django, or similar backend frameworks
