Job description

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client that is hiring an Azure SQL DBA to work onsite in Miami, FL. The DBA will provision and manage relational and non-relational database services, ensure high availability and disaster recovery readiness, optimize query and system performance, and enforce database security standards. They will work closely with application development, cloud engineering, and architecture teams to support data infrastructure at scale.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
* Provision, configure, and manage cloud database services including Azure SQL Database
* Design and implement high-availability and disaster recovery configurations for all database platforms
* Monitor database performance; Identify and resolve bottlenecks through query tuning and index optimization
* Enforce database security standards including encryption at rest and in transit, access controls, and audit logging
* Manage database backup, restoration, and point-in-time recovery procedures; conduct regular DR tests
* Collaborate with application and architecture teams on schema design, capacity planning, and migrations
* Develop and maintain database runbooks, standards documentation, and change management procedures
* Evaluate emerging cloud database technologies and provide recommendations for platform improvements
REQUIREMENTS:
* Bachelor's degree in Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
* 8+ years of experience with Windows system administration
* 5+ years of database administration experience in an enterprise environment
* 3+ years of experience with Microsoft SQL Server
* 3+ years of experience designing and testing HA/DR configurations for production database systems
* 3+ years using Terraform to provision and manage cloud database services
* Strong hands-on experience with Azure SQL Database
* Experience with database performance tuning, query optimization, and index design
* Experience applying AI/ML tools to database performance optimization, anomaly detection, or query analysis (required)
* Proficiency with Terraform for provisioning and managing cloud database infrastructure (required)
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
