WHAT YOU WILL DO
You'll have the opportunity to consult and work with many of Flexware's clients by helping lead large projects while still being hands on with many technologies in controls and automation. We are looking for a senior-level engineer who wants to be challenged to come up with innovative solutions and lead the solutions allowing our customers to be freed up to focus on what they do best. We are looking for someone who has experience working in a regulated environment. This position will be working in the Pharmaceuticals and Life Sciences industry. As a consultant, you will work with a multitude of technologies depending on what the client's needs are. Here are some of the technologies and responsibilities that you may encounter:
  • Program and install PLCs including Allen-Bradley ControlLogix, CompactLogix, and MicroLogix.
  • Program and install HMIs / SCADA systems including Allen-Bradley PanelView ME / SE, Wonderware InTouch, and Wonderware ArchestrA.
  • Program and install VFDs including Allen-Bradley PowerFlex, Armorstart, and Danfoss.
  • Work with networking components such as Ethernet/IP, ControlNet, or DeviceNet.
  • Responsible for automation and controls system design, specifications, programming, simulation, testing, as well as start-up assistance.
  • Assist in developing a functional description of the automation solution such as the control scheme, alarms, HMI, reports, and others.
  • Assist in various project management / coordination tasks such as managing project schedules and budgets, developing scope of work, and providing technical leadership.
  • Calibrate, troubleshoot, test, repair, and improve sensing, measurements, and actuation devices.
  • Assist in defining the data structure layout and data flow model.
  • Provide detailed documentation to clients on systems designs and programming.
  • Perform other duties or work with other technologies as necessary.

Flexware is looking for an individual that is willing to step in where necessary and help our clients be successful. We are looking for someone that is not afraid to get their hands dirty and be of service to others. There is a travel expectation for this position.

WHAT YOU MIGHT HAVE DONE BEFORE
  • Received a Technical Bachelor's degree such as Electrical Engineering Technology, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Technology, Information Systems, or another similar technical degree.
  • Have several years of experience (8+) as a Controls or Automation Engineer.
  • Experience working in a regulated environment with GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices).
  • Previous experience with batch processing (S88 standards) preferred by required
  • Programmed PLCs using RSLogix500, RSLogix5000/Studio5000, Siemens Step7 or TIA Portal and other PLCs using Ladder Logic, Structured Text, Function Blocks or Sequential Function Charts (SFCs).
  • Designed, created, and programmed HMI screens in Wonderware InTouch, Rockwell FactoryTalk View, Ignition, or others.
  • Worked with networking components.
  • Worked with variable frequency drives (VFDs).
