Senior Associate


We are seeking an experienced Senior Associate to lead client engagements, oversee day-to-day project execution, and support the development of junior accounting professionals. This role offers the opportunity to manage multiple engagements while working closely with clients, Managers, and Partners. This position is located in the Tidewater Region (Southeast Virginia) and is open to candidates willing to relocate.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead multiple engagements while managing timelines, budgets, staffing, and deliverables.
  • Serve as a primary day-to-day client contact and communicate project status, issues, and outstanding items.
  • Plan and oversee audit fieldwork, including assigning tasks and providing guidance to Associates.
  • Prepare and review workpapers, financial statements, and client deliverables for accuracy and compliance.
  • Supervise, train, and mentor Associates through ongoing feedback and professional development.
  • Research and apply current accounting and auditing standards, including GAAP and GAAS.
  • Assist with proposals, business development, and other firm initiatives.
  • Maintain confidentiality and follow professional and firm standards.
  • Continue developing technical expertise through CPE and professional training.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required; Master’s degree preferred.
  • 2+ years of public accounting experience preferred.
  • CPA designation preferred.
  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and leadership abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a client-focused environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to supervise and develop junior staff.
