Overview

Job Purpose

Intercontinental Exchange (ICE) is seeking a Senior-Front End Developer within the Index Technology team. The ICE Index Technology team is responsible for building software systems that construct, calculate and manage global Index and ETF products. IDI calculates millions of index levels per day, reliably and efficiently. The senior developer will focus on the migration of our Sigma application UI (Java Swing) to React UI technologies. The role will follow established design patterns and architectural principles, and collaborate well with QA, product management and other functional teams to implement high quality solutions to user requirements. The ideal candidate for this position will be a self-directed individual with a passion for excellence and demonstrable experience in building and maintaining diverse business applications containing complex workflows and business rules. The role requires strong knowledge of front-end technologies, good experience with iterative development and SDLC tools, and the ability to work well with others.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, andย maintainย complex, enterprise-scale GUIsย 
  • Collaborate with product managers, UX designers, backend engineers, and QA to deliver new features end to endย 
  • Translate UI/UX designs intoย high-quality, production-ready implementationsย 
  • Ensureย technical feasibility, accessibility, and performance of UI designsย 
  • Optimizeย applications forย speed, scalability, and responsivenessย 
  • Integrate front-end components withย Java Spring Bootย back-end servicesย 
  • Participate in and leadย code reviews, providing constructive feedback and promoting best practicesย 
  • Troubleshoot and resolve UI performance, stability, and usability issuesย 
  • Stay current withย emerging front-end technologies, frameworks, and industry trendsย 

Knowledge and Experience

  • Bachelor's in computer science or software/computer engineering (or equivalent) required
  • 5+ yearsย of professional experience developing graphical user interfaces for production systemsย 
  • Strongย proficiencyย inย JavaScript, TypeScript, and Reactย 
  • Solid understanding ofย HTML5, CSS3, and modern web development standardsย

  • Hands-on experience consuming and integratingย RESTful APIsย
