Position Title: Senior Application Support & Development Engineer
Location: New York, NY (On-Site)
Pay Rate: $65.00 (Contract)
Position Description:
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Application Support & Development Engineer to maintain, modernize, and enhance a diverse array of applications, including legacy systems, Microsoft technologies, SharePoint, Power Platform, and SQL Server. In this critical role, you will own production incident management, implement thoughtful enhancements, and leverage AI-assisted development tools to improve efficiency, quality, and documentation. Your expertise will ensure system stability, performance, and seamless support for complex enterprise applications.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Troubleshoot, triage, and resolve production incidents across multiple technology stacks, delivering comprehensive root-cause analyses and durable fixes.
  • Develop, modify, and extend features within existing .NET, ASP.NET, and VB.NET applications while preserving behavioral integrity and improving code maintainability.
  • Understand and analyze existing system architectures, dependencies, and business workflows to deliver targeted support and enhancements efficiently.
  • Build and maintain solutions within SharePoint Online, SharePoint on-premises, and the Power Platform, focusing on Power Apps and Power Automate workflows.
  • Manage SQL Server databases, including stored procedures, performance tuning, index optimization, and schema updates, applying best practices in database development and maintenance.
  • Collaborate with business analysts and stakeholders to translate support and enhancement requests into well-structured, testable change items.
  • Integrate AI-assisted workflows for root-cause analysis, patch creation, regression testing, and operational documentation, adhering to team standards for review and verification.
  • Lead post-incident reviews, identify systemic issues, and translate findings into action items to prevent recurrence.

Top Requirements:
  • 8+ years of professional software engineering experience with a focus on production support and application maintenance.
  • Deep expertise in .NET, .NET Core, ASP.NET, C#, and VB.NET during development and support activities.
  • Proven ability to read, debug, and extend legacy codebases, including Web Forms and MVC/Core applications.
  • Strong understanding of SQL Server, including stored procedures, T-SQL, indexing, and performance diagnostics.
  • Hands-on experience supporting SharePoint Online and on-premises environments, including site and list administration.
  • Experience with Power Apps and Power Automate, delivering enterprise-level solutions.
  • Discipline in incident management, root cause analysis, change management, and thorough documentation.
  • Proficiency with AI-assisted development tools like GitHub Copilot or similar, applying best judgment to verify outputs before deployment.
