Job description

FTE/Scheduled Weekly Hours:
1.00 / 40 / 1st Shift (United States of America)
PRIMARY FUNCTIONS
Serves as the primary point of contact in the implementation, support and maintenance of assigned application systems at the organization. Coordinates development, implementation, standard process development, reporting, forms customization, on-going support, and application maintenance related to assigned applications. Works with the other systems analysts to ensure information systems are supported and meeting the organization's business requirements.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Application Support:
  • Maintains and supports the capabilities and functionality of all assigned applications for the organization's information systems and the user community.
  • Ensure functionality and performance of assigned applications.
  • Reviews updates/upgrades to assigned applications and coordinates testing, training, and implementation of upgrades.
  • Provides day-to-day support for subject matter experts and end users, addressing issues or questions regarding assigned applications.

2. Project Management:
  • Leads and participates in projects related to implementing and enhancing assigned system applications.
  • Serves as a part of the project management team for activities requiring cross-departmental involvement.
  • Ensures timely completion of tasks within budget constraints, maintaining clear communication with stakeholders.
  • Completes projects and tasks assigned in a timely manner and within budget constraints.

3. Reporting Support:
  • Develops and maintains reports, dashboards, and analytics to support decision-making and to aid the end-user.
  • Utilization of various reporting tools including SQL, PowerBI, Crystal, Bigquery, Pivot tables, Power Pivot.
  • Develops SQL and scripts.
  • Collaborates with departments to identify reporting needs and provides solutions using standard or custom tools.

4. Process/Goal Support:
  • Translates departmental and strategic goals into actionable information system solutions and processes.
  • Meets regularly with stakeholders and workstream leaders to ensure objectives related to information systems are achieved.

5. Information Systems Team Support:
  • Provides second-tier Helpdesk support to the organization's users for all assigned applications.
  • Provides backup for first-tier helpdesk support as required.
  • Provides off-hour, on-call support as scheduled.
  • Provides backup for other systems analysts.
  • Ensures assigned application support issues and tasks are being addressed correctly and in a timely manner.
  • Educates other information systems staff on assigned application technology.

6. Continuing education:
  • Evaluates and maintains expertise on existing and emerging assigned application technologies.
  • Makes recommendations on emerging technologies to department leaders.

7. Educates and advocates for information system policies and procedures.
8. Serves on hospital committees or workgroups as assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
1. Education, Experience, and Training
  • Must possess a minimum of an Associate's Degree in Computer Science, healthcare or related field.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in systems administration, systems configuration, integrations, and data management.
  • Must have the ability to work with automated systems, as well as a variety of computer-related equipment.
  • Must possess the ability to manage multiple applications and systems.
  • Must have strong skills in differentiating between process and program issues, as well as taking non-technical systems and translating those into technical models.
  • Must possess the ability to teach and train end-users and limit dependence on him/herself.
  • Ability to learn and navigate computer systems including the online training modules, the employee timesheet and the performance appraisal system. Job specific systems are also required.
  • Must have excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Must be able to read, speak, and write fluent English.

2. Physical Requirements
  • Sitting - Not a requirement.
  • Standing - Approximately 50% of shift.
  • Walking - Approximately 50% of shift.
  • Lifting - Approximately 50 pounds.
  • Twisting - Infrequent.
  • Bending - Moderate.
  • Squat/Kneel - Approximately 25% of shift.
