Job Summary:
Tutor Intelligence is an early-stage startup developing state of the art AI-powered robotics for American factories. They are seeking a senior software engineer who will architect and build core software systems, combining engineering expertise with AI-augmented development workflows to deliver solutions for intelligent robots in real factories.
Responsibilities:
โข Architect and build core software systems across backend services, cloud infrastructure, internal tools, and user-facing applications
โข Ship fast by combining your own engineering expertise with LLM-based development workflows โ and help the rest of the team do the same
โข Own problems end-to-end: scope them, build them, deploy them, and keep them running in production
โข Work directly with robotics engineers, ML engineers, and operations to understand what's needed and deliver it
โข See your work come to life on physical robots โ debug a deployment in the morning, watch it run on the factory floor in the afternoon
โข Identify and eliminate bottlenecks in how the team builds, tests, and deploys software
Qualifications:
Required:
โข 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, with meaningful work in Python.
โข Deep fundamentals in systems design, debugging, performance, and how to write code that doesn't fall over in production.
โข Experience with AI-augmented development tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot, or similar.
โข Ability to articulate what works and what doesn't in AI-augmented development.
โข Pragmatic approach to shipping working solutions quickly.
โข Multidisciplinary skills to handle various tasks such as writing a React frontend, setting up a Kubernetes cluster, or debugging a data pipeline.
โข Strong engineering judgment.
