Job description

Job Type: Full-time, Exempt

Across Minnesota and Wisconsin, National Bank of Commerce is making a difference in the financial lives of the people, communities, and businesses we serve. We exist to help our customers accomplish more than they could on their own. Join our creative and accomplished professional team to help us make more possible.

At NBC, our Senior Bankers take the lead in managing a highvalue loan portfolio while driving growth, deepening client relationships, and safeguarding credit quality. This role blends strategic portfolio oversight with handson credit administration. This role works closely with business clients to structure credit, assess financial strength, and deliver tailored lending solutions — all while ensuring every decision aligns with bank policy, regulatory expectations, and sound risk management principles.

Beyond credit expertise, this position calls for a proactive business developer and trusted advisor. You’ll expand the bank’s presence by cultivating new relationships, strengthening existing ones, and identifying opportunities to crosssell products that support clients’ broader financial needs. As a senior member of the team, you’ll also contribute to committee work, operational planning, and community engagement, helping to shape both the bank’s performance and its reputation. This is a role for someone who thrives on responsibility, values precision, and enjoys building meaningful partnerships across the business community.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or Accounting, plus 15+ years of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Client relationship skills — proven ability to build and maintain strong, positive client relationships
  • Financial analysis capability — able to gather financial and business information and perform analyses to support credit decisions
  • Agricultural lending knowledge — broad understanding of agricultural lending techniques and practices, familiarity with NBC’s loan policies and credit culture, as well as familiarity with NBC’s products and services
  • Interpersonal and influencing strength — able to establish credibility and effective partnerships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Business development drive — motivated to grow a network of referral sources and generate new business opportunities
  • Technical proficiency — strong computer skills and experience with business software
  • Regulatory compliance — adherence to all bank policies, procedures, and applicable state and federal regulations
  • Values alignment — consistent demonstration of NBC’s core values: Respect, Integrity, Teamwork, and Accountability

Full-time annualized starting salary range for this position is $154,000 to $231,000, contingent on relevant skills, training, experience, education, and other job-related factors permitted by law. This position is also eligible for performance-based incentive compensation.

National Bank of Commerce offers an excellent benefits package including health, dental, and vision plan for you, your spouse, and eligible children, Health Savings Account (HSA) contribution (including employer contributions), flexible spending accounts, 401(k) plan with a generous match, paid time off program, paid holidays & floating holidays, volunteer time off program, employer paid life insurance, voluntary life plans, short-term disability insurance, long-term disability insurance, health and wellness incentive, and employee assistance program.
