Collins Aerospace is seeking a Senior Quality Engineer to support and lead product and process quality initiatives across our manufacturing operations. As a Senior Quality Engineer, you will drive quality planning, root cause investigations, corrective and preventive actions, and continuous improvement efforts to ensure compliance with aerospace standards and customer requirements. You will partner closely with Manufacturing, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Quality teams to strengthen processes, improve product performance, and support operational excellence.

This is an individual contributor position.

Your mission: to deliver exceptional product quality, drive continuous improvement initiatives, mitigate manufacturing and process risks, and ensure customer and regulatory requirements are consistently achieved while advancing operational excellence.

This position is based at our Santa Isabel, Puerto Rico location. You must be residing in Puerto Rico at the time of starting employment. Relocation is not offered.

What You Will Do:

  • Lead product and process quality engineering activities, including quality planning, root cause investigations, and corrective/preventive actions.
  • Drive resolution of internal and customer quality escapes through effective problem-solving methodologies.
  • Partner with Manufacturing, Engineering, Operations, and Supply Chain teams to improve product quality and optimize processes.
  • Utilize Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) tools, including PFMEA, Control Plans, Process Flow Diagrams, MSA, and 8D methodologies, to identify and mitigate risks.
  • Investigate non-conformances, deviations, and defects and implement sustainable corrective actions.
  • Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Manufacturing and quality engineering principles.
  • Participate in real-time production issue resolution and support Quality Clinic activities.
  • Facilitate internal, customer, and regulatory audits while ensuring compliance with aerospace quality standards.
  • Develop, analyze, and present quality metrics, reports, and key performance indicators to leadership and customers.
  • Support supplier quality, MRB activities, statistical analysis, and quality system compliance initiatives.
  • Reviews process control documentation to ensure it is in compliance with requirements, objectives, and/or contracts.
  • Manages processes to ensure all requirements are met for work transfer and process change management including Resourcing Gate and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) acceptance.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated professional or educational experience communicating in English and Spanish (verbal and written).
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Experience in Quality Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Supplier Quality, or related disciplines within aerospace, defense, medical device, or other highly regulated manufacturing environments.
  • Working knowledge of PFMEA, Control Plans, Process Flow Diagrams, PPAP, MRB processes, 8D problem solving, Six Sigma, Gage R&R, Measurement System Analysis (MSA), and statistical quality tools.
  • Experience utilizing SAP, quality management systems, and supplier quality management processes.
